kearton Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Is anyone here successfully using the YHGfL-provided Cisco VPN Client to access their School network through TMG 2010?
psydii Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 If the set up is anything like LGFL.... I have done this. The challenge is that the RBC provided VPN terminates you connection in the ip space between the inside of your RBC router/firewall and the outside of your TMG box. TMG quite rightly treats this as external traffic. We have things set up so that RDP connections can be run from this "no man's land" into our server (in our private IP space) through TMG. We also have the provision of an MS VPN service running, again accepting connections only from this "no man's land", so you run a vpn inside a vpn to get an ip considered to be internal to TMG on your client. Not the prettiest, but it does work. 1
mwalpole Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Hi Kearton, In essence, what psydii is saying is pretty much correct. If you do have any issues getting it to work, if you can log a ticket through the normal procedure, one of our engineers will be able to assist. Regards Marc
kearton Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 I logged a ticket via the normal channels (EdIT Centre) days ago and haven't had a response, Marc...
mwalpole Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Hi Kearton, If you want to PM me your contact details and school, along with any information you have, I can log a call on your behalf to our helpdesk if you wish? Regards Marc
