  7. Hi, We have had notification from Janet that it they had no further issues after 12:30 BST on the 16th of October. Unfortunately, with this being a denial of service attack on our upstream provider, we have no control over if this will happen again. We do send out notification emails, as well as updating this and our twitter feed when we have an issue. If you wish to be added to the notification email group, please PM me your email address and name and I will add you to it. Kind regards Marc
  8. Dear Colleagues, As you may be aware, we are experiencing some internet issues at the moment. This is being caused by Janet, who are our upstream provider suffering a DOS (denial of service) attack from unknown parties. This is something they are aware of and looking into, but the attack keeps changing vectors and this attack is causing links to saturate. Our engineers are in constant communication with Janet and we will bring you updates as soon as we have them. Kind regards ICT4C support team

  14. Hi All Our Kirklees Date Center have to perform emergency power maintenance on Sat 15/05/2015 at approx 9am. This should last for around 1 hour. There is a small risk to loss of power at this time, which may result in loss of access to services. Apologies for any inconvenience Regards ICT4C Support team
  15. Hi Everyone, This is something we at YHGfL are currently investigating. abillybob is correct, the problem encountered currently is that schools are natted out on the same group of public IP's. This causes issues when registering a caching server because all devices within the network will then try and contact the caching server at a single school where the caching server resides. This will not be reachable from other schools/networks. This will stop apple products from the updating etc as apple will say "you have a caching server locally". The reason for this is the single group of public IP’s and also the way in which networks pass through the filtering platform on egress. Putting a caching server in our core network would NOT solve the issue of bandwidth utilisation as you are still using the link to get to our core. We are currently looking at a number of solutions to allow individual networks / schools to have their own Apple caching server. Kind regards Marc

Hi, Only just seen this thread, yes please send them to us Kearton, we can block them before they get to schools who use us for mail relay. Kind regards Marc
  17. Hi Kearton, I am sorry to hear about that. Obviously if you have email problems, then you need to log the call over the telephone. We are working on a third way to allow schools to log calls through a portal. This will allow you to log into our helpdesk system and put calls on yourselves, but it is still in development at the moment. One thing our system does is it rejects emails from email addresses which are not associated with specific users. If you have any particular people who you want to be able to log calls, can you PM me their names and email addresses please? I can then set them up to allow access. Kind regards Marc
  18. Hi All, We can block any of these senders which are consistent spammers on our email appliances, for those who use us as a mail relay. If you have any addresses please submit them to our helpdesk on the usual 0300 303 89 60 number, or email them in to [email protected]. Kind regards Marc
  19. Hi Kearton, Sorry noone has responded to this sooner. Do you want to PM me the call reference and I will look into this for you. Kind regards Marc
  20. Hi Tmoon-mint, Yes it is possible to block the individual sites. You can either do this yourself if you have SWURL, or you can request one of our helpdesk do this for you by either telephoning 0300 303 89 60 or emailing [email protected] Kind regards Marc
  21. Hi Chris, Sorry, I was on leave last week. Has someone looked at this issue for you? Kind regards Marc
  22. Hi Chris, Yes it can. I believe our Sales team will ask if you want to provide this information when you log a new request for SMS vpn, but it is strictly optional and not required to configure it. Kind regards Marc
  23. Hi Chris, This can be resolved if you log a call with our helpdesk on either @[email protected] or 0300 303 89 60 and log a call. What we will need from you is your own schools DNS server IP address and we can then set up the VPN group to allow you to use the DNS host names rather than just the IP addresses. Kind regards Marc
  24. Hi Matthew, If schools in East riding are having issues can you email into our helpdesk at [email protected] with what the schools are please? Kind regards Marc
  25. Hi externo6, I have just been told this morning by our senior engineers that this issue has reoccurred. They are looking into it at the moment. Kind regards Marc
