A friend and I were talking about how the UK copes with the weather last night, how we're not prepared for it being too hot (not enough places have air con), not prepared for it being too cold (an inch of snow and the place grinds to a halt).

Our conclusion was that overcast and peeing it down is the only weather that the UK is really equipped for.

Which is perfect because that's what it is most of the time :)

Now then, can anybody tell me how much your productivity as dropping by today?

68.4% and since my productivity is already at 50% of normal that puts me into negative. Best just go home eh?

Yes really my office is above 40'c

Corporate Safety advice:

2. Everyone should drink more than they would normally. Ensure plenty of cold water is available for staff and pupils alike. Ensure staff are able to take more breaks than usual and carry drinks with them.

Sounds like a pub to me.

I dance Modern Jive.... yes in this weather. I can easily go through 4 litres of water during a dance. I can't stand tea and only have a maximum of 2 coffees a day, so more water in the day too.

Seriously unhealthy working conditions!

What is the maximum/minimum temperature in the workplace?

Make sure you take lots of regular breaks.. do you have a very local pub? :D

The local is all but on the school grounds... Does advice off the internet carry weight?

We've had the windows and door open all morning and managed to get it down to 31'c. Unfortunately the sun moves round onto our floor to ceiling windows in around 30 mins. Oh joy.

I see the uninformed public are moaning about the railways again without any knowledge how expansion joints work.
