Advice on Touch screen tv for special class

Our SEN class would like an interactive board of some sort, now due to the nature of the children I am thinking an interactive tv/screen would be better, no shadow etc. But it would need to be very robust (they have managed to destroy an iPad in a griffin case)

 

Has anyone got an interactive solution in a special class?

We just had a Demo of a 65" screen from VII Networks Shop I was very impressed, it comes with their own software that can be used (but it did work with active inspire) and it comes with a site license of WordWall which may be good for the SEN class.

 

It has toughened Glass which we punched at full force, and you can even get it on a stand which can flip it to a table top. It also used the standard windows drivers, so nothing extra to install there.

 

Also it had a freeze feature and 3 year warrantee as standard, give them an email and ask for a demo, it is worth it :-)

Thats what you call proper testing!

 

I've just been speaking to another tech at a different school and he says health an safety says you must use toughened glass on all monitors .

 

Not sure how true it is yet but adds a bit onto the price.

Hi, We've just introduced a really great SEN range, which includes an interactive touch screen/table, which are durable and robust to suit specific learning environments.

 

From what you're saying this would be ideal because it moves up and down electronically to suit users of all heights and wheelchair users. It also turns into an interactive table so that children can gather round and work together. http://www.stonegroup.co.uk/media/41732/stone-visilift.pdf

Hi Pooley - Yes we have supplied many SEN schools with the hard glass interactive touch screens - they are very robust and great for this need.
