Hey Neil

I get VeryPC's photography equipment from a local supplier in Sheffield called Harrison Cameras, who provide really good customer service. They have an online store:

Harrison Cameras Direct - Cameras - Lenses - Bags - Tripods - Photo Albums - Harrison Cameras

Not sure if these would be an ideal supplier for you given the location, but they are always helpful if you give them a call for a pre-sales chat.

[GENERAL CAMERA CHAT BEGINS]The DSLR I'm about to get for our new video projects and product photography is the Nikon D5200 - pretty good value for an awesomely specced piece of kit:

Nikon D5200 Black DSLR Camera Body - D-SLR Cameras - Cameras - Harrison Cameras

What camera are you going to get for your school?[/GEEK]

Hope this helps,

Al (marketing geezer for VeryPC)

Not so long ago, I'd have suggested Jessops as that's where we got all our kit from before hand.

Failing that though (obviously) I tend to search Amazon, as they normally have good prices, then contact store owners to see if they'll take a school purchase order (unless you're a lucky one who has a credit card etc, in which case you can just buy directly).

Edit: Although, having said that, I see their website is still trading (I never did follow up where they went, did they get help, are they in business etc) but even so, probably worth while getting from a company that is a bit more stable in case of warranty worries etc.

@soveryapt - Jessops got bought out by Peter Jones and is trading on the high street again too. From what I've heard, it's being much better run now than it has been for years. Only time will tell...

That would explain a lot then and makes me happy as I'm looking to buy a new DSLR myself - just waiting to see what Canon bring out as a followup to the 60D before I either get the new one, or get the 60D cheaper because the new one comes out. lol.

We buy all our cameras and video cameras from WEX (previously known as Camera Warehouse Express) contact them and ask for a corporate price and hopefully you'll save a bit. Also try Calumet (though they are a bit dearer)
