Associate PDF files to Foxit through GPO?

Anyone know of a way to easily associate PDF files to automatically open with Foxit reader, using GPOs?

Foxit_Reader.exe -Register

Sorry to dredge this thread up.

 

Did anyone ever manage to roll the file extension settings for FoxIt into a transform file so it can be deployed with active directory?

Actually I just downloaded the latest msi and opened it in Orca and there is a new field called 'Extension' .pdf, it's not in previous versions, well not the last version that I have anyway (2.3).

 

I'll post back if it now works.

I've just deployed the msi to a client that did have Adobe Reader on and now the default reader is Foxit so they appear to of updated the installer, I have version 3.0.2009.1506.

I don't use Foxit, but it may be possible to disable it through the registry.

I couldn't find a registry entry but eventually found the setting in the file below. I'll have to deploy that to each station.

 

C:\Program Files\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader\FoxitReader_Preferences.ini
