andy_nic Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Edugeek is fully of different people with different hobbies. So is there any model makers on here or anyone who is building a model railway or has built one? I can’t post images of my one up at the moment because I've forgot the link to the images. But will post some later when I get home.
crc-ict Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I've done a bit of the model railway thing. Still got my layout, although now at my Dad's house and not set up since having children and not having the space for it. This is Blackvale - a fictional modern(ish) era West Country branch terminus. Don't have the time or the space for much modelling at the moment, except I am very slowly building a model light aircraft from a balsa kit.
sted Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 i used to do airfix a few years ago but just couldnt put them anywhere in the end binned loads. do a fair bit of lego these days though and theres 2 technic ones out back end of this year i want as well as a big bwing and xwing im debating at the moment
CAM Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Sorry no model railway here, I get my teeth into the real thing. I do enjoy a bit of wargaming though and painting up a 40k Snakebite Ork army and Dropzone PHR force! 1
Garacesh Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Only models I've got hold of is Tyranids and Dark Eldar
Rawns Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 (edited) I used to collect Airfix as a kid, only WW2 planes though! My pride and joy was a huge 1:38 scale Lockheed P-38 Lightening that I had no room for, so hung it from my ceiling with fishing wire! http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w323/DH764/Airfix%201%2072%20%20P38%20Lightning/IMAG0497.jpg Also used to collect/paint Warhammer 40K models. I chose the Chaos Space Marines. Loved painting them, though none of my other mates wanted to collect them too and do battle! Edited May 16, 2013 by Rawns
andy_nic Posted May 16, 2013 Author Posted May 16, 2013 few pics from my railway http://i905.photobucket.com/albums/ac257/andynic_2010/00railway/09122012.jpg http://i905.photobucket.com/albums/ac257/andynic_2010/00railway/260420130_zps74ba5213.jpg
iom100 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Railway modeller here (early stages of a OO layout set in early 1990's). Currently getting the loft converted so I have more room for what I want to do!
Rawns Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 few pics from my railway http://i905.photobucket.com/albums/ac257/andynic_2010/00railway/09122012.jpg http://i905.photobucket.com/albums/ac257/andynic_2010/00railway/260420130_zps74ba5213.jpg Looks cool. Your first picture looks like a Payload level from Team Fortress 2!
Andie Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I'm married to one (making me a model railway widow) - does that count? Our entire garage is taken over with a GWR OO layout based around Didcot/Newbury branch lines, including a lot of scratch built station buildings. And it's a big garage! He's going to get me involved at some point making station nameboard signs on the computer.... And I've done a good job of reproducing brick paper for emergencies! Oh, and I get taken round old stations and photographed for scale . Better stop now, as I'm starting to sound very sad...
Gatt Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I used to love building models - had cracking models of the USS Enterprise D and E - but they are probably in the tip now thanks to the West Highland Witch (aka: My Mother)
rad Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Does Lego count? On the railway scene I do have a small collection of 0 guage to admire
