Cache Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I'm just wondering if I'm going slightly mad or not and if anyone can confirm. I'm just glancing down the Summer 2013 pre release note and it seems to suggest that performance management for staff is going to be a chargable addon rather included in the core licence. I was under the impression it was going to be included as part of the core licence, but can't find where I read this at now. Am I going made and imagining that it was going to be free, or is this an hidden change to Capita's plans?
PhilNeal Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I'm afraid we have been challenged by a competitor so yes we have had to alter our plans to provide this at no extra cost. We have had to put in a barrier so that schools have to elect to buy this functionality. The whole area of competition law is highly complex and dangerous for us if we ignore it. We have made the barrier as low as we feel we safely can. 2
vikpaw Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Quick, think of things nobody else has thought of yet and give them away for free!
PhilNeal Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 (edited) Not a bad plan @vikpaw - rather than free it would be at no additional charge! As long as we can show its an evolution of something we've had before I feel safer. For example we were challenged on Discover but as it is a development of Performance Analysis which we were absolutely first with we continued to offer at no additional charge. We did have to go the the OFT to explain ourselves but they decided on this occasion not to investigate further. Edited May 16, 2013 by PhilNeal
vikpaw Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 ah i see, free from additional charge it would be great if Lesson Monitor evolved into an independent executable that was accessible from a remote web session.

Cache Posted May 16, 2013 Author Posted May 16, 2013 Thanks for the reason @PhilNeal, atleast I wasn't going mad but is nice to be told
Meldrew Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Has anyone seen a demo of the performance management module? We might well be interested, but want to know what it does and how it works first...
Edu-IT Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I wonder which competitor kicked off? There aren't that many... I don't think.
vikpaw Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 There was another thread that mentioned it, including costs with a link to more info. I think this link has some info SIMS Personnel for secondary schools and academies | capita-sims.co.uk Give them a buzz for a demo. 1
