Need an Nvidia card with the following specs....

Bah, I've just got a new SSD for the office 'puter and discovered that my motherboard is only SATA 2 (3Gbps). I thought it was SATA 3. Never mind I thought I'll just get a PCIe SATA 3 card and off we go, but nooooo!

I have 2 graphic cards fitted and as they are both 2u in size they block the only PCIe slot my motherboard has. As it's a good board and cracking CPU (early LGA1366 i7) I don't want to bin it obviously. So what I need would be a graphic card with the following spec:

 

• Nvidia 400 series or higher
  
• 1u in size
  
• 2 x DVI
  

 

I've had a good look around but I am only finding devices with HUGE fans attached or, in the case of 1u cards 1xDVI and 1xVGA. Does anyone know of any out there?

What's your minimum spec though? x10 are the most basic AFAIK, so if you have say a 440 at the moment, a 610 isn't going to match it for performance despite being two generations newer

Must agree I've had something similar and it was fine and did the job well

Daft thought as not checked and don't have time to check right this second but is there not a newer motherboard that supports that CPU and similar CPU's that you could get to replace the motherboard you have now so you get SATA 3 or whatever other features you are after and do it that way as when looking at motherboards it normally states that it supports LGA 1366 and XXXX and XXYY etc

Thanks all. I currently have a GTX460 and 9500GT installed. I'm not here to play games (well, sometimes at lunch) and my current setup is plenty good enough for what I do at work. That 610 looks perfect for what it shall be used for and is a bit more more powerful than the 9500 Edited May 8, 2013 by Dos_Box
