speckytecky Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Two members of staff recently mentioned they have received 'odd' messages from Yahoo - resolved by resetting their passwords apparently but apparently the messages originated in Egypt in both cases ans resulted in their accounts spamming their address book contacts.
localzuk Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Yup, Yahoo is heavily under fire in terms of hacking/phishing etc... One of our staff recently sent everyone in her yahoo mailbox an email saying she needed £2500 to get home from Thailand or somewhere because she was being tracked by gunmen... Our advice to her has been - dump the yahoo account.
sippo Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 A lot of it going around. Had a yr 7 girl in tears about it. Not a lot anyone can do apart from telling the user to change their password.
samba_man Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 A few people I know have had similar things happen with their Yahoo accounts the last couple of months. They never had much trouble before.
