IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

ALEXANDER STADIUM, PERRY BARR, BIRMINGHAM

£25,750 - £29,870 per annum

 

UK Athletics (UKA), the National Governing Body for the premier Olympic sport of athletics has an exciting vacancy for a full time IT Support Technician, to provide direct support to the employees of UKA and England Athletics.

 

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar position and have a strong technical background including Microsoft Windows Client and server experience, networks and Microsoft Office products and Blackberry devices. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate experience in diagnosing and solving hardware and software faults.

 

The role will involve reactive IT support and offering Troubleshooting solutions to over 180 employees in diagnosing and solving any hardware and software issues they may have. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical users and be able to interpret their needs effectively.

 

This is a customer-facing role, so candidates will have experience of dealing with people on a daily basis and be looking to continuously improve the facilities available to the employees of the organisation.

Education to a degree in IT or equivalent is desirable and previous experience of user training would be preferred. Most importantly, the successful candidate will have a flexible approach to working and must have a positive ‘can-do’ approach in order to be a key part of this small team.
