Dos_Box Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 OK, I take it we (well our UK based members) are getting pretty fed up now with the cold snap we are having. With temperatures well below average for the time of year (2-3 degrees c as opposed to the average of 9 degrees) I'm getting fed up as well. Looking at the 5 day forecasts there seems to be no let-up in sight. So when can we expect spring to arrive then?

ZeroHour Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Btw my folks are enjoying lovely sun (although not hugely hot) no wind or snow in Shetland Isles, the most northerly part of Britain where they dont get weather like the last few days even in the summer.
Sunnyknight Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I'd rather it stay cold and windy. In the summer / when it gets hot i burst into flames like a vampire.
E_G_R2 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I just want to wear shorts at work already... High Vis ones?
Miscbrah Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I want sunny. :/ I want to Dinitrol my car. :/ :/
jonnykewell1 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 the more it snows the more chance we have of snow days! keep it coming haha.
elsiegee40 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I want to get our tortoise out of hibernation. He's not supposed be down for longer than 4 months. I'm getting concerned
mdench Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 soon i hope sat at goodwood today freezing ny backside off...
FN-GM Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I want to get our tortoise out of hibernation. He's not supposed be down for longer than 4 months. I'm getting concerned Can you keep him in the house until its better out side (not a pet expert)
Neil-Millgate Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Motorbike already! Even heated grips dont stop falling over in the snow! Booked our wedding for 31st March thinking it would be nice, with some blossom on the trees, daffodils in bloom........looks like we are having snow instead.
Dos_Box Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 I want to get our tortoise out of hibernation. He's not supposed be down for longer than 4 months. I'm getting concerned I can emphasise totally with your tortoise!
jinnantonnixx Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) Warm and sunny would be nice. However, we seem to have a choice: Cold and dry, or mild and wet. I'll take cold and dry any day, even on the bike. It's all in the jetstream, kids. As a rule of thumb, if it's far north of the UK, everything's nice. If the jetstream is over the UK, it's wet and windy, and if it's south of the UK it's cold (and dry in winter, wet in summer). http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=jetstream;sess= Don't hold your breath waiting for spring weather. MatthewL Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I just want the winds to ease off so it doesn't feel like I am im at the North Pole!! 1

Elison Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I guess all Eruope and Eruopean part of Russia suffer from long winter this year. Here spring came today only, its sunny and temperature is about +6. But yesterday it was freezing wind and mix of rain and snow. I suppose in April spring will come finally! At least I want to believe ))

Elison Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 @elsiegee40 really? jealous? Honestly, I thought that the UK's climate is rather mild, and +6 you have in March (well, exept this year). Here its only he first spring day and we still have snow all around, and weather is very changable, so everything can change tomorrow (I hope it won't). But now we enjoy the sun, birds' songs, warm wind and a good mood
SYNACK Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 We have the opposite, should be cooling down and its still 25 during the day. The last time it actually rained I posted about it. The grass is petrified so it's all dead and almost looks snow covered in the right light. Climate change is here and messing with us all.
rickjames Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 It's nice having that extra hour at sunlight but it's still incredibly bitter. Heading to Belgium/Holland/Germany on a roadtrip in 3 weeks, hope the weather warms up there also.
jinnantonnixx Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 While defrosting after a couple of hours mountain biking, I found this: World's best weather | Las Palmas, Canary Islands| Just right
