Parent pay - student view

I was wondering if there is a way for students to view the amount left in their parent pay account, like a restricted view to show only what has been eaten and paid for and remaining balance without using the parent login?

 

We have a reval unit but sometimes users cannot get to it due to queuesso checking the account online would be advantagous.

Not that I have noticed do your cashless not have some way of the student checking balance and meal data other than the reval?

Nope, not that im aware of, they can use the tills but thats not ideal either.

As far as I'm aware, there isn't such a view - it would more be down to your cashless system to handle this, as the system is what I'd call the 'balance master' rather than ParentPay - so the data on ParentPay may not be 100% up to date at all times but the cashless system would be.

 

My thought would be that if there are queues to the extent that people can't get to the eval machine, then you need another. The other thing to look at is positioning - is it 'out of the way' so that kids have to make a specific journey to get to it? Or is it situated on a general student concourse? If not the latter, I'd consider moving it, so that kids can quickly pop to it during lesson changes - you lose the queuing issue, as the kids then gain a lot of possible times to check it.

 

And finally, if you are able to do programming, you could hook into an API to create your own online site. ParentPay have an API they might let you use to get balances, or your cashless provider might. However, both of these introduce an issue of 'how to link a user's cashless account to their logins'.
