Laptop/Netbook Recomendation

I have just been told that we have around £50,000 to spend before the end of the financial year (last minute rush as usual) so leadership have decided they want to replace all our old 5 year old+ laptops (around 100 of them) with new kit.

 

The only requirements we have is that the battery life must be at least 6 hours (closer to 8 would be better), have a chiclet/island style keyboard (to make it a bit more difficult for the keys to be pulled off) and be under £400 (cheaper the better). If it had an SSD hard drive it would be nice, however this is not essential as we can always buy the SSD's separately and fit them ourselves.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions I should be looking at?

 

The HP DM1-4300SA looks like a possibility, however I have not been able to find anything about battery life, can anyone tell me what the run time is like on these?

The battery life on the DM1-4300SA is upto 4 hours. I'll have a look at some Toshiba options for you and see what I can find

We have always purchased Dell Latitudes and with the optional extras you can change the battery for a larger one thus lasting a lot longer,

sadley though I think when we replace ours I will be looking elsewhere as Dells prices seem to be going up quite a bit.

I'm currently looking at Lenovo E135s. Long battery life, good value, but depends if the small screens will work for you. Can get them all in for £400 each including SSD.

Hi @HilcrRWise I brought 30 HP DM1 from Mark @Millgate a few months back they are a great laptop. I upgrade them with extra RAM and install 60GB SSD. These laptops last all day with SSD

What about the Toshiba C850-1K4? A little more expensive but better spec'd and longer battery life. What do you think?
