LeMarchand Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Last time I visited/downloaded from the MS VLSC all my sites had the Enterprise editions of W7 and W8 available, but on a recent visit I noticed that these were no longer available to download. Did MS put them up by mistake, or decide to withdraw them? If so, are any current (or future) installations no longer licensed? I haven't spotted any "this copy of Windows is not licensed" notices, but then it's only on a handful of machines - including the one I'm typing this on, which still says activated!
sted Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 they are under software assurance not windows for some strange reason just checked 1
chazzy2501 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 you'll find them under software assurance. EDIT: damn, @sted 1
LeMarchand Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 Thanks folks! Silly me, expecting Windows 7/8 to be under, y'know, Windows! At least that means I can start my VM creation masterplan with ENT versions tomorrow.
tmcd35 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 they are under software assurance not windows for some strange reason just checked Enterprise is a feature of software assurance. You only get Pro without - at least that's it for Win 7, haven't bothered learning the rules/editions for Win 8. (Of course EES include SA)
sted Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Hasn't Enterprise been discontinued? no Enterprise is a feature of software assurance. You only get Pro without - at least that's it for Win 7, haven't bothered learning the rules/editions for Win 8. (Of course EES include SA) well yes but its still windows and i would expect a filter of show me windows to find it
