garethEds Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Morning all, In MDT where do you recommend I put a CommandLine task in my task sequence? At the moment I have a script net use s: server> /user:xxxxxxxx xxxxxxx /persistent:yes "s:\sims\Setups\SIMSApplicationSetup.exe" /S "s:\sims\Setups\SIMSManualSetup.exe" /S "s:\sims\Setups\SIMSAMPARKSetup.exe" /S if exist "c:\Program Files (x86)" goto _x64 :_x86 copy "\\10.180.8.4\d$\YGG_Production\cmd\connectx86.ini" "c:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net\connect.ini" /y copy "\\10.180.8.4\d$\YGG_Production\cmd\simsx86.ini" "c:\windows\sims.ini" /y goto _end :_x64 copy "\\10.180.8.4\d$\YGG_Production\cmd\connectx64.ini" "c:\Program Files (x86)\SIMS\SIMS .net\connect.ini" /y copy "\\10.180.8.4\d$\YGG_Production\cmd\simsx64.ini" "c:\windows\sims.ini" /y goto _end :_end It runs and installs SIMS but the copy procedures at the end do not work. So part one works, part two does not. So SIMS installs, but the .ini files do not come over. I've enclosed a picture of my task sequence where you can see the 'Run Command Line' which takes place after 'Install Applications'. I have the command line and all the files on the MDT server - maybe they are in the wrong place? Can anyone advise? Gareth
sted Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 i add them as software packages without source files
lynn1 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I don't know anything about MDT but in batch files /command line UNC paths ie \\servername\file can be problematic. Try copying the ini files onto your S: drive somewhere and then chaning the task so that is points to their location on the S: drive. eg. from your example above: net use s: /user:xxxxxxxx xxxxxxx /persistent:yes "s:\sims\Setups\SIMSApplicationSetup.exe" /S "s:\sims\Setups\SIMSManualSetup.exe" /S "s:\sims\Setups\SIMSAMPARKSetup.exe" /S if exist "c:\Program Files (x86)" goto _x64 :_x86 copy "S:\iniFileLocation\connectx86.ini" "c:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net\connect.ini" /y copy "S:\iniFileLocation\simsx86.ini" "c:\windows\sims.ini" /y goto _end :_x64 copy "S:\iniFileLocation\connectx64.ini" "c:\Program Files (x86)\SIMS\SIMS .net\connect.ini" /y copy "S:\iniFileLocation\simsx64.ini" "c:\windows\sims.ini" /y goto _end :_end
