macca Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 we are getting a load of new laptops are there still the issues with sims, vista, office 2007 if what are they
Geoff Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 I believe the main issue is that Sims doesn't work on Vista. I suggest you downgrade the laptops to XP.
kearton Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 We've been told by our LEA not to put Office 2007 onto any machines that run SIMS
hobbit Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 office 2007 is okay to install from august when capita support it ! some of our schools are alraedy using office 2007 and have been for a few months !
enjay Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 I believe the main issue is that Sims doesn't work on Vista. I suggest you downgrade the laptops to XP. What bits of SIMS don't work on Vista? I haven't found any yet...
User3204 Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Phew! I'd just given out a few Vista laptops, as long as it is just the olde 16bit stuff that doesn't work, as we don't use this anymore. I wouldn't give out Office 2007 yet though, there's converters out there.
kestrel1 Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 If you have Vista business you can roll back to XP pro. You need to get onto Microsoft for a prod key though. Take a look at this for further info: http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/f/4/5f4c83d3-833e-4f11-8cbd-699b0c164182/royaltyoemreferencesheet.pdf
Michael Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 We're using Windows XP SP2, Sims and Office 2007 without any problems. November this year is when Capita will allow SQL 2005 and Vista to officially work with Sims.
