xenonive Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 This is the first time it has been install and setup.I'm having issue with students logging in . When they try it just hangs on logon screen with no error then timeouts. Staff and administrators both work fine which leads me to believe its a permissions issue. We currently have a students group with has each year group as member and then students are a member of the year groups, so in the setup I add the student active directory group as the HAP student group. I have seen a post about logon rights as student required for server the web server or file server(which is also domain controller) or both ? , could this also be the cause ?
nickbro Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 HAP+ runs best on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Remote Access/Web Server. You will need to allow Local Logon Rights to all users.
xenonive Posted March 4, 2013 Author Posted March 4, 2013 Thanks for the reply will look in to the local logon rights
xenonive Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 After setting local logon rights now get to page that say Error: Unauthorised Access You have attempted to access a restricted resource I'm now lost to where the permissions are being checked as if give a student membership to teachers group they work but don't see what teachers have permission wise more than students. If remove student groups and just have membership to domain users also works , just don't know what has been set in the students group to denied access to user area.
nickbro Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 This may be an issue with recursive group lookups, that is currently being worked on for the v9 release. Which page did you try and access? The homepage? or My Files? If it's My Files, can you post the myfiles section of your hapConfig.xml file
xenonive Posted March 7, 2013 Author Posted March 7, 2013 It's was the homepage I believe as the my files only has one entry to map home directory using the variable . I believe issue issue would be with the recursive group lookup due to way we have groups inside groups. Let me know if you would like me to trial any versions of v9
