Evening/Morning Folks

If I have a classroom with 6 ipads and one Apple TV connected to a projector how does each one demo their work through the projector during the lesson?

I'm trialling this tomorrow so thought I would ask first

Cheers

Only one iPad will be able to mirror at any given time, but if you have one iPad (lets call it iPad A) being mirrored and another iPad (iPad B) presses mirror it will throw iPad A off and show iPad B.

If I recall correctly you slide the app/open apps bar to the left and then you get an extra menu for the apple TV where you can connect to it. Not sure if you have to set up the apple TV in the actual iPad's Settings menus first? Would assume so.

But yes, there is no control over it from a teacher point of view - any pupil can "grab" the projector at any time.

(unless you pin protect airplay on the AppleTV)

No setting up required on the iPad. It detects AppleTV's presence by Bonjour and adds the button to activate it automatically.

Ah ok that's very handy to know as I've just had a quote for ipads and apple tv.

So if you pin protect the airplay I take it the teacher would have to manually enter the pin into the pupils ipad for the pupil to be able to do a demo? (or the pupil would have to know the pin?)

Hey jumping on this thread abit late, But when you enter the pin on the ipad is it everytime the ipad wants to connect to apple tv or does it remember the code? Just interested to know how other people do this as we have just got a full class set of ipads and 6 apple tvs. Cheers.

this suprisingly never crossed my mind, God this working through summer thing is hurting my head. Just tested it, it keeps the password saved each time, So i guess its going to have to come down to classroom management unless someone knows something we don't, Cheers.
