buzzard Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I didn't realise windows 3.x was still around!!!! BBC NEWS | Technology | The end of an era - Windows 3.x
matt40k Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 £20 says they move away from Windows to a BSD. No idea they were still selling it!! 95 is long dead, which is the min requirement for using a licensed Vista upgrade.
buzzard Posted November 5, 2008 Author Posted November 5, 2008 would you trust 3.1 to run anything on a airplane???
sparkeh Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 would you trust 3.1 to run anything on a airplane??? It runs the brains of EasyJet staff.
Sylv3r Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 When I went to America earlier this year, my tetris kept crashing and booting me into Windows 3.1 on the inbuilt entertainment system.
Friez Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Yes. No USB support, no internet. More importantly, barely anyone writes viruses for 3.1 these days. It's all win32 stuff tbh! A lot of companies still use old computers/OS because of reliability reasons!
gshaw Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Just think of the boot times on new PCs the OS would be running faster than the user Google for the Windows 1.0 boot floppy... great for a practical joke to send someone's PC back to 1985
wizzard Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 It runs the brains of EasyJet staff. Care to elaborate on your experience?
