I'm dubious about this from a licensing point of view, but can't find anything definitely stating it can't be used in an EDU environment (not that this would particularly put TPTB off). Before I open the box, can anyone confirm that you can set a proxy on these? If you can't, then it's not going to work. I'm also wondering how they plan on renewing once the "in the box" plan expires...

It's definitely more of a grey area than Amazon and Netflix, which I'm sure everyone has seen in use in their establishments.
crc-ict Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 (edited) I don't know the specifics of the Now TV device, but a problem I have had with certain devices is that our filtering uses SSL interception, and so a security certificate needs to be installed on devices to allow secure connections without errors being generated. Even if the stick has Proxy options, I would be willing to bet that it doesn't have the functions to install a certificate. I've just noticed that while using an HTTP proxy on my PC (to use the Internet in my workplace), the NOW TV app claims I'm offline. At home, on a DSL connection, it works as you'd expect.
