Extremely p****d off.
Ordered something on eBay, seller decided to use Yodel.
Just as with DPD (also a bunch of f-in cowboys), no parcel has turned up, instead I've just had a card. Arranged redlivery, never turned up again. Try phoning them and all you get is an automated f-in robot.
I wish all these cowboy couriers would just f-in die. [or employ human beings to man the telephones]

8th July 2011, 03:14 PM #2 Got a card from the Post Office.... aka collect yourself service.... parcel to big, collect from office, open at 8AM.
Too big for what??? It's small enough to go through the letterbox, which I thought was the idea of putting one in my door.

8th July 2011, 03:27 PM #3 at least via the post office you can go and collect it though, these jokers are impossible to get hold of, all you can do is re-arrange delivery but there's f' all you can do if they don't turn up with it
Given the option, I'd go with Royal Mail any day, simply because when they do silly things like above, you're never too far from the local depot at least!

8th July 2011, 03:29 PM #4 This is why I send everything c/o my workplace. There's always someone here willing to accept parcels, so this sort of thing doesn't happen.
You need to check with t'boss first though.

Yodel are useless, we have to use them when we have parts to send back to HP, normally have to call 5 times to organise a pick-up and kept on hold for about 15 minutes.

I do usually since I had a similar experience with DPD (that ended in me just getting a refund from the seller and telling them to sort it! They were a business so I didn't feel too guilty about it!), but some eBayer's are awkward so and so's and insist on a registered home address
what's really annoying is they said they'd post first class Royal Mail, think I'll be asking for some money back on the already ridiculous P&P charge!

Email them I had exactly the same thing with ringing, email was a very swift response with the delivery booked for the following day and it was all sorted.
Very good service from that point of view.

I don't bother asking. Nobody seems to mind, so long as the package is clearly marked as personal. That way the office girls don't get confused and run round looking for the purchase orders.

No they aren't? They're Home Delivery Network, owned by the Shop Direct Group. DHL is DHL Express, not the same company.

I think @synaesthesia is right actually, in at least that they are now all owned by the same company (they share depot's and customer service lines anyway)

Why the hell did I think that? I was absolutely adamant of it. Mostly because we got a packet from Yodel earlier this week, of course followed up by the "Who the hell are Yodel" Google queries. Fairly sure the first result was DHL.
AND more importantly that was probably Wednesday, the day when our brains actually work properly. Monday is just after the weekend so intelligence is a no-go, Friday is end of the week so intelligence is a no-go.
I need a break!
Ahha - edit, found it!
HDN bought the domestic arm of DHL (DHL Express) a while ago. That explains it - and slight relief that I'm not going entirely mad!
