Hi All, I have having some issues loading web pages, either receiving time out or security errors such as the this from random sites such as Collins connect. I did initially have the same sort of fault with the YPO website but seem to be able to mitigate the error i was receiving by adding the reg key as detailed here (http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2553967) The issues are mainly present on the internal networks and using IE, less so on my guest network (DHCP from router direct to filter) and using chrome, however still present to some extent. Has anybody else had these of similar issues? DC 2012R2 Workstation Win 7 64 Hosted Schools Broadband Lightspeed Web Filter Mikrotik Router

Hi All Talk Straight/Schools Broadband has recently made a massive change to their IP ranges and are now using IP range blocks that are assigned to Romania. We have seen issues with a few services we use and I wondered whether there was anyone else out there that have noticed service issues based on their IP address being Romanian!

Hello everyone, we're moving a number of schools away from CLEO at the moment to our broadband services. All of our schools have received termination fee's from OneConnect. I've read the t's and c's and it appears they can charge what ever they want. I'm wondering if any schools have challenged the termination fee and have had any success of not paying them? Certainly in my opinion they don't seem to be fair. One primary school was quoted >£1500 to pick up and decommision equipment. Thanks Dave

Hi all Any advice please. We are an SBB customer and netsweeper are unable to offer direct support. We have PCs and AD all setup so users logging in receive the correct netsweeper policy on their windows devices as the netsweeper agent is installed. We also require the same users to be able to login to chromebooks. Ideally chromebooks are setup with the following OUs: Users>Staff & Users>Students. This way the JSON file for netsweeper can be set at user lever and the appropriate filter applied. With this setup it seemed to cause an issue with staff using a PC as the agent on the pc was showing the staff policy and the chrome browser was also pulling the JSON and showing the access is denied page and applying the default policy for netsweeper which was set to student. The setup seemed to be working until the beginning of June. SBB have not yet been able to provide a solution other than removing the JSON from google admin which then leaves us with filtering issues on chromebooks. Netsweeper were able to provide some information to me and indicated it should work along with the following information; The WAgent 4.51.53.53 for Chromebooks was released in the past few days to fix a Manifest V3 issue that impacted whatismyfilteredip_reported_ip on Chromebooks. Also, due to Google enhancing security, you need to use https for server connections, for example -d https://wagentchrome.schoolsbroadband.net in the Google admin configuration JSON. The https being added to the JSON does not work for us and the URL SBB provided that works on chromebooks is -d chromewagent.schoolsbroadband.net which also differs from netwsweeper as they have it the other way around wagentchrome Any advice would be greatly appreciated or if I have not made it clear and need to provide more info please let me know. TIA!

Hello everyone, to start off with mods, I have this is ok posting here. Please do let me know if not and move to any relevant forum but it is Internet related. I'm interested in getting IT managers feedback on a potential leased line product we are considering selling via an LLU provider. I have my reservations but would love to get some honest opinions from you. Currently for leased lines we sell guaranteed 1:1 contention ratio, same speed upload / download, speed fixed 24x7x365 at fixed speeds. Normally for secondary schools this is either a 50Mbit or 100Mbit. Leased lines are not cheap, but you get what you pay for and we almost always recommend them for secondary schools. I have been approached by an LLU provider to offer the education market a new product. This will be £1,000 to £1,500pa cheaper than our normal product as above. As an example lets talk about a 100Mbit line From 08:00 - 17:00 you'd get the full 100Mbit with 1:1 contention ratio as per the normal product. Outside of these hours we then give 100Mbit of bandwidth to 10 schools, effectively giving a 10:1 contention ratio. The thing is though if you look at all the network stats, schools hardly ever use bandwidth outside of these hours. Sure there is the odd bit of offsite backup but not much. it's highly likely that schools will get nearer to the 100Mbit outside of the hours anyway due to low usage by other schools. I really do want to put it on the record though that we are only THINKING about providing this. We do NOT currently provide this and haven't to any schools using our service or currently signed up to do so in the near future. If we do go with the product we will also offer both different options and be completely up front about the differences in the product. Any thoughts on the matter would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!
