Hello i am having trouble tranfering timtable changes to sims.net from NT6 i get a critical error saying Some existing class memberships last beyond the last academic year (99 instances) i have had this before and ran validate memberships and it fixed the issue however that is not working now anyone have any ideas?

Have received the following error report in NT6 v6.41 Build 1 I'm used to seeing an error when reporting duplicate group names and can always spot what I've done wrong, but not this time. These are the blocks NT6 has an issue with: The problem only seems to come about when more than one subject is added to a block - so if I just had, say English in the English Block and Maths in Maths Block, then that returns no error. As soon as I add in more than one subject - BOING! Any suggestions gratefully received - I've seen mention of a patch from SIMS - if correct, how do I identify it.

Hi there, i'm wondering if anyone can help, or if you've had a similar situation and found a better work around. It think this can get confusing so i'll try to explain it as clearly as i can. Situation: We are using SIMs and we have a period of the day which we call enrichment time. This runs Period 4 everyday for years 7 & 8, we are also running a two week timetable. During period 4 students have opted themselves into a selection of subject activities, so far so good. The problem i'm facing is a way of putting this into SIMs so that we can have registers and class lists for staff but each day the activities and Staff change. We have 4 class codes in each year group (eg 7Ech1- 7Ech4, 8Ech1-8Ech4) but the class list changes each day. So far all I've managed to do is to allocate all subjects offered each day to every student and then go back in to each students one at a time and remove the clashes for the three subject activities that they have not chosen for that day, This is then done 10 times for each students over the 2 week timetable. This kind of works for the teachers taking the class register, but admin cannot print class lists as sims allocates all students to all enrichment class codes. I'm hoping there is a simpler way of allocating these registers, can anyone help? Kind regards Paul Sword

Hello, sorry if this question has been answered before, but I couldn't find an answer! I'm a newbie in timetabling for a secondary school using T6 and trying to learn the ropes. Basically, at our school we have different times of day on a MT than on a WTF. This is caused by the addition of a 40min PSHE session at the start of the day on MT. So, on a MT students have Reg for 15mins, then PSHE for 40mins, then 6 curriculum lessons. On a WTF students just have 15mins Reg then 6 curriculum lessons. As students aren't in the same class for Reg and PSHE we've had to set up "P1" to act as PSHE on a MT whilst it just acts as the normal first curriculum lesson on a WTF. The problem this creates is confusion amongst staff. Everyone refers to Registration as "Reg" and PSHE as "PSHE". They then call the first curriculum lesson "Period 1". This all makes sense but on timetables and the registers etc this first curriculum lesson on a MT is actually "P2"! This has caused so much confusion this year. Is there a way around this??? Hope the above makes sense. If not please ask and I'll try to clarify it better.

Hi I'm aware there are other threads on here from a few years ago but wondered if there was any up to date opinions of timetabling software. I'm just about to take over timetabling in my school and have been dipping my hand in since next years timetable has proven to be very complicated and Nova T6 has really struggled to meet the needs of our curriculum plan. I understand it might be coming to the end of its life, but who knows when. Does anyone use other software - I've seen mention of timetabler - but previous posts mention issues with importing into Sims and manually having to do this - unless in the past few years they've improved this. Any advice greatly received in preparation for next year! Thanks
