Okai, a techy one here thats been causing me issues since before Christmas. I have some computers that all of a sudden don't respond to there mice. They will work one minute then, whilst working even they will just stick and freeze. Reboot the PC and they are sometimes ok, other times they won't respond and gives the impression the PC has frozen, which it hasn't as the keyboard is fully responsive and if your clever like all us techs are, we can survive without the mouse for a good while to prove the point of "who needs a mouse anyway :D" I have tried new mice, both of the PS2 and USB Variety, tried a reformat and re-build from scratch, always looks good then within 48hrs it seems to start the issue again and were back as bad as it was before. It seems that the Mouse option in device manager just disappears! and plugging / unplugging a USB mouse makes no difference to it, its just not in the list, and if you do a Scan for new hardware, it seems to lock the PC up 9 times out of 10, but it doesn't often appear. Now strangely a friends home computer also started doing something very similar before Christmas and has the exact same problems, but they are very different machines. The fact its a large number of machines in my mind rules out motherboard as its going to be VERY strange for about 30 motherboards to have gone weird in this way all at once, so I'm stuck for ideas! Has anyone any thoughts?

The boss wants every classroom to have a wireless mouse to encourange interaction with the kids, I need them not to interfere with next door, and preferably be plug and play...We're on Windows 7 and looking for about 50 max I'd say! Any ideas? Lau

I was talking to some of the infant teachers last week about how the kids are getting on with basic computer skills. They start using the computers here from the age of 3 albeit rather humorously/terrifyingly. However they really struggle using the mouse as its just too big for them. I have already attached velcro to one side to help them with which buttons to click as for some reason they are extremely drawn to right clicking everything, but I am stuck for a solution to this other than simply buying smaller mice for the younger classes. I just wanted to ask if anybody has or is already using these, if its worth it and if they will help or if it will just affect them when it comes to using an adult sized mouse once they reach 6 ish? It's hardly a pressing issue but if it will help the kids progress since the majority seem to love using the computers, then it would be really good to hear any opinions on this. Thank you!

Bit of a strange one. We've put PCs in some rooms into racks against the wall and run plug-socket KVM leads out to the teachers' desks. In most cases this needs a 5m cable, but in one or two we need more. The problematic room has a 10m lead. When installed it worked, however we got sporadic reports of the PC stopping and needing a reboot. Changed the PC, and it wouldn't start. Suspected a nail through the mouse cable, and bypassed it. All starts up and is OK. This morning, I take a new 10m KVM lead down to finish up and this doesn't work either! So, thoughts please; Is there a maximum length of cable for a PS2 mouse? Have you ever bought duff KVM extensions? Any other clues?
