Hi Guys, Is there a simple way to get a list specific aspect results out of the general SIMS reporting mechanism, ultimately by the CLR? Ideally in a Student focussed report I would like to include the results for a number of specifically named aspects from the assessment manager. I can't find any obvious way to do this. I would like to be able to specify the aspect name at run time which would be supplied from a script elsewhere which I have done for other reports. I can't even find an obvious route to this via a new report based on a focus from the assessment manager list. I've tried looking at Resultset, Gradeset, Result and Aspect but as usual with SIMS it is completely unintuitive. Maybe I see this as a simple task in my head - get the results of specified aspects for all the students in a student focussed report - but apparently it is not. Can anyone at least point me in the direction of what documentation or walkthroughs or tips might be helpful? For example I couldn't find any way to produce the aspect name filter from this post 113407-how-would-you-do-sims-gurus from @LosOjos. Any thoughts gratefully received. Polski

I'm trying to replace aspects on templates in SIMS but I don't know if it's possible. I have a template which I want to use for every subject. I know I can clone it, then replace results sets as necessary but I would also like to replace aspects. At the moment, I have to delete the aspects that need replacing and then add new ones. Because the aspects I want to replace use formulae relating to other aspects, I have to delete the formulae ones, add the new aspect and then add all the formulae aspects again and it is very time consuming. Does anyone know a way to simply change aspects like you can with results sets? Thanks!

Hi everybody, First time I'm doing this, so bare with me. I imported a lot of the new year 7 students and some of the new other years students already (through Routines > Data In > CTF) but I am getting a lot of errors along the way. The most recurrent one is "Aspect not found for KS2, 2008, SCI, TA, AT3, NL. Result not imported" -- which means that I can get their results in the system. Is there any way I can do this manually, and then probably link to an aspect that I am quite sure which it is? Is there any other way of doing this? Maybe I'm doing something wrong or else, since I am having to find everything by my own, I and all this I done so far was me looking around since there is not a single person that knows how to do things like this here. Please let me know - thats kind of important...

Hi, Would you be able to tell me how to set a character limit in the mark sheets where an aspect is set as 'comment'? We use the mark sheet for entering teachers comments for reports, and they have started to waffle, so wondered if it would be possible to sharpen their focus at all? If it is not possible to specify a character limit, does anyone know what the current limit is? Thank you. Jen

Hi all, I'm a bit stumped. We've got several SMART Boards around the school which seem to be compensating for the wrong aspect ratio. Let me explain. It only happens when you're using your finger- SMART Ink works fine and is aligned properly. When using your finger to tap or click, it is accurate for a thin (vertical) segment in the middle of the board. As you tap towards the outer edges of the board, the cursor goes wildly out of alignment with the projected image, meaning Windows picks up your tap further to the left than you are actually tapping on the left side of the board, and vice versa on the right side of the board. It's as if Windows touch overlay is still seeing a 16:9 aspect ratio (despite the projector and laptop being set to a 4:3 aspect ratio) and as such compensates for that. Any one experienced this issue before? The boards are too old to be covered by SMART's support, but I might give them a whirl anyway. Thanks.

Hi I'm trying to run a report to identify and when and who made the latest changes to a comment box on a Sims.net marksheet. I can do it for individual results on a marksheet by right-clicking and selecting result history and seeing who the 'operator' is, however I've been asked to do this in bulk for about 1000 records so i was trying to do this in a report. I can create report on an aspect to show the latest result date and the number of results however I cannot see how to produce who entered it, I can see the aspect OWNER - but generally that's me as I created the aspect, I was expecting a 'recorded by' which is what we get with Conduct reports, or 'Operator' as they are referred to in the history of the marksheet.

Our SIMS was recently Migrated to 2012R2 and all client machines updated to Windows 7. SIMS is behaving unusually slow, in some areas but not others. For example : Focus > Assessment > Template > then choose Template Columns - "New" > "Add Columns for Data Entry" > then choose next > you get the option to select result. when searching using the text box, this is quite responsive. however, on the next page, where you select aspects, typing in this box is incredibly slow. you get serious "lag" typing and it seems ridiculously unresponsive. (Attached is the text box in question) Is this a common issue with the Aspect Browser? do we have too many? the client machine I've tested it with is a Core i5 with 4GB of Ram, the SIMS server is a Hyper-V box with 8 Cores and 24GB of RAM. so both are well spec'd machines (although this aspect browser slowness is the same on all clients regardless of spec) (have renamed My SIMS Documents folder, ran the re-index patch before the migration (does this need to be run again?) checked all the other basic things all to no success. Any ideas? thanks in advance! Ben.
