GEP Senior IT Technician Pattern of work: Full Time (5 days a week) 4 days a week at Kings College Guildford and 1 day a week supporting Loseley Fields Primary School. Salary: S5 £19,245 - £21,796 We are seeking to appoint a Senior Technician responsible to assist in the support, management and maintenance of the Kings College Guildford and Loseley Fields IT networks. Our school environment is caring and friendly, with a strong sense of community, and we are looking to add a Senior IT Technician able to support our staff and students across the two schools. Pupil numbers in each school are approximately 330 and 340 respectively, with an enthusiastic and dedicated team of staff supporting each school. We have network staff across our Multi Academy Trust (Guildford Education Partnership) with group communications and bi-annual meetings. This creates a community where we help each other resolve issues and work towards joint goals. In addition to working independently at the two schools, the Senior Technician will be directly supported by an Assistant Network Manager for at least 1 day per week on site and at other times via web conferencing. The role will have specific responsibilities: • Assist with maintaining physical and virtual servers • Network security • Assist with internet access and filtering • IT repair and maintenance • Software installations and maintenance • Helpdesk & support requests • Assist with the backup systems in each school Experience with SIMS and VMware would be an advantage but training will be provided. The person appointed may not necessarily be familiar with all the areas listed above, but a willingness to learn and be proactive is essential.
