Thanks for that. The Binary Wave part is now working.

Hi, Thanks for the suggestion. It probably will do, but I'm not sure the google reader will fit on the screen as a sharepoint webpart. It also requires a separate account. I'm quite surprised how difficult it is to find something.
-
Can anyone recommend an RSS aggregator web part for WSSV3? I've tried the Smiling Goat and Binary Wave web parts, neither of which seem to work (due to our proxy servers I expect). Thanks Michael

Presumably you just want anonymous access to this site? If so, right click the web site in iis, select directory security>authentication and enable anonymous access.
-
Try applying the policy to a domain local or global group to see if that helps.

I've recently had a Fortinet Fortigate 300A (transparent firewall/web filter) installed as part of our grid's proxy software refresh. This sits in between our LAN and the router which connects to us to the grid (HGfL). I have ports 80 and 443 to allow outbound access to the internet. I've also tried allowing the RAUDIO service, which I believe opens up TCP7070. Having trawled the internet, I tried opening 4040, 6970-7170, 8080, 554 etc. The only way I seem to be able to get it to work is to create a service where the source TCP port is 1000-9999 and the destination port is 554. Is this the only way to do it, or is there a tighter way of allowing RealNetworks streaming media? Thanks

One last suggestion would be the following (and it does seem unnecessarily complicated for what you want to do): Sync your Outlook calendar with Google Calendar. Synchronize Google Calendar With Outlook Synch your Blackberry with Google Calendar. Google launches Blackberry Sync for Google Calendar and Google Apps | The Search Lab I guess that could work in theory, but have no idea well it would in practice.
-
Sorry, I meant the sharepoint calendar that opens in your Outlook can be synchronised with WSS3, meaning that both users will be working on the same Calendar, albeit with a bit of a delay due to synching. Does this not meet your requirement?
-
Have you tried connecting your WSS3 calendar to Outlook 2007? What are the results?
-
I think WSS3/Outlook 2007 should do what you want, as they are capacble of two-way synchronisation when used together. Previous versions of Outlook are only capable of receiving info from WSS and not writing back to it. Alternatively, if you have Exchange, just share the head's calendar with the PA.
-
Spiceworks should do this as well.

I got around the segmentation fault by installing the OS supplied on the CD that comes with the eeepc. Apparently it can also be fixed by replacing the rdesktop package with a different version. EeeUser ASUS Eee PC EeePC Forum / rDesktop.... Help ??

From a terminal, open the simpleui.rc: sudo kwrite /opt/xandros/share/AsusLauncher/simpleui.rc At the end of the file, before the closing enter the following to create a shortcut to rdektop: icon="iptv_norm.png" selected_icon="iptv_hi.png" > Terminal Server

Most repackaging tools will have a default exclusion list (of registry keys, directories, file extensions) which you can customise. Anything that matches the exclusion list should be left out of the resulting package. I'd strongly recommend that you check what is detected in the scan and refine the package, removing anything unrelated to the application. For example, if you capture a Windows log file in your package and leave it there, when you deploy your MSI, you may find it fails if that log is locked by the system at install time.

I used this adm to redirect with group policy.

The download from GTCO does work with the RM Classboards (or it did the last time I updated, v5 I think). It's supplied as an MSI, so easy to roll out.
-
Albeit a valid one, I suspect.

Modifying GPO software installation source retrospectively
meastaugh1 replied to meastaugh1's topic in Windows
Thanks for the info, sounds about right. cheers -
I've implemented DFS for GPO software installation and folder redirection. Is there any way to change the existing software installation packages, without removing them and adding them back in? Something like ADSI editor to modify the source location of the MSI perhaps? Thanks
