I can so relate to this, Had the commadore 64 aswell with tapes, had 2 tapes space invaders and Blockbusters haha I went to Sega after with the Mega drive, loved this console and is the one i most remember from been a child. Games like Spot , streets of rage, golden Axe and of course sonic I do remember a friend having a PC with windows 3.1 and minesweeper, then a few years later the internet came to life and a friend had dial up so we would all gather round his on one PC. it was mainly Counter Strike back then Then came the PlayStation and we all know where things went from here I know i too cant win but i like to take part -
Re: Ubiquity switches - Thoughts??
RedwayNetworks_Michael replied to ssouth's topic in Wired Networks
Alternative to look at could be Cambium Networks, they offer cloud management and they also come with support. They do still lack a core switch and also stacking. Ive done a fair few Cambium projects and used Aruba 5400 chassis switches as core and then had Edge and Wireless on Cambium for customer to have the cloud management at a good cost but still have the support. That said im also an Aruba fan and their support is very good but stock issues are still a major issue. Several projects of mine are going to be coming to 18months soon, thats if stock arrives when they say as it moves further away every month. -

Thanks Guys, So i made the official final list today for the fight. You have to sell 10 tickets and raise at least £50 to be guaranteed a fight so i made the cut. I also submitted my walkout music today too, i did go for "Hey Mickey" its all for fun right so hopefully this will help entertain a little even if my boxing skills dont haha Weigh-in on Wednesday for me as we get closer now to been matched up to our opponents. -
White Collar Boxing

Thanks guys, training is going well, i did have 1 week of missing out due to illness(i never got ill before exercising) Last night the contact went up and the head injury disclaimers signed, finally did some contact sparring. We was doing 3 minutes with a partner then changing. I looked straight for the big heavyweight guys as i felt i needed to be punched in the face to see how it feels haha. I did notice with most opponents i sparred with whihc was a good 10 different partners i seem to be happier to go in and out of reach and alot of them are just in stance so i find myself going in jab and hook then stepping back out, i can see them trying to get reach on me so i keep the distance. Not alot of room with 30 people all sparring around you. Out of the Gym im still doing my weekly run which i usually do with one of the engineers from work and i do 2.5KM in just over 20min currently. I also do quite alot of skipping at home. After sparring last night and alot of blocking mainly using my lead arm its super sore so i need to work on something to get my arms used to been in guard for long periods. Ive also started training using the mouthguard now as we was told its best to get used to them now rather than on the night. Weigh in is next week so i will update on that, when i started i was 65KG and expect about the same. I also now need to get my walk on music together and submitted. I am think "hey Mickey" by Tony Basil but open to any suggestions -
The SSID can be “attacked” by something like Cisco Meraki’s Air Marshal as another user mentioned (other WIPS are available). This works by sending deauthentication packets to the SSID, which can stop users from connecting and using this SSID. However this does not stop the SSID from being broadcast, so it is still visible. This may encourage the user to change their hotspot name. You may be able to track down the device to a specific area based on the RSSI (signal strength of the SSID). But this can be a time-consuming task and it’s often difficult to identify the user without them turning off their hotspot.

RedwayNetworks_Michael replied to Ditto's topic in General Chat
Leaving EON would be a good idea, worst ones ive had to deal with -
Also - make sure DHCP is accounted for on the new VLAN. This may mean that DHCP relay (sometimes known as "ip helper") needs to be configured on the layer 3 interface for VLAN 250 and also a corresponding sope is configured on the DHCP server.
-
Please see below response from the engineers, please do feel free to reach out if you still have issues Engineer comment In addition to configuring the wireless network to use the 250, you also need to configure the wired network to use VLAN250. I would check the relevant switch ports (such as ports going to the controller, APs & switch uplinks). Depending on the traffic flow not all of these ports need to be tagged, but as a general rule if you have a port tagged to use VLAN240, you would likely need it to also tag VLAN250.

Ive sent this one across to my engineers for us. I will let you know what they come back with

Do you think perhaps since pandemic they have seen less numbers showing up for the show and therefore trying to push it more.
-
If it helps at all i can say that even as a supplier i too get bombarded. then usually for a month or 2 after i get follow ups to see how i found the show even if i never attended haha

DfE Funding For New Wireless Costs
RedwayNetworks_Michael replied to discoveranother's topic in Wireless Networks
Hi, Are you within one of the education investment areas, You could email [email protected] to find out if you have been invited. However if you are outside the investment area you will likely not be invited. However if you are in the areas its worth checking as often the invites from DfE are missed or lost. They are sent to who they have on their system so again the invite could go to a head or even the Office@ address or even to a member of staff that is no longer with the school. Feel free to ask any other questions ill be happy to help -

Friday is going to be valentines for me and the Mrs, We do it most years, we usually get a voucher at Christmas from family for Pierre White or something restaurant. The voucher cant be used at Valentines so we just delay to the following weekend Besides weekends are so much better i find than week nights. -

DfE Connecting the Classroom project funding
RedwayNetworks_Michael replied to password1234's topic in Wireless Networks
DfE contact schools, however there are alot that miss the invites, The DfE will email what they have on record so sometimes this can be an @head or @office email. Also if your ofsted rating was needs improvement or below. Its worth getting the staff to check all the emails. I know wave 5 all invites have been sent now. -
Connect the Classroom Suppliers
RedwayNetworks_Michael replied to dcwhitworth's topic in Wireless Networks
It used to be a case of survey after first proposal but i imagine that caused too many changes once people surveyed. Although its not ideal i can see it been easier for the DFE team to manage. If you have a preferred supplier to use they will survey and be able to come up with a bill of materials which you could then use to get 2 more quotes for the 3 quote exercise. Once you are past that stage and have a chosen supplier its full steam ahead and the supplier should be able to help with paperwork ect too and help with any justification. As Lee mentioned i would recommend using someone that has done some of these projects already as it will make the approval process much easier as they will already be aware of what can be approved and not so is much less forth and back with the DfE contact.
