  1. Dont worry about this so much, i beleive they want them all done by feb however we have several we are working on and aslong as you are in communication with DfE it will be fine. If im totally honest we have found DfE to be very efficient this time around with very fast turn around times too. If you reach out to them and explain the situation they will work with you, i think what they are trying to avoid is lots of people going to them last minute.
  2. Multi Gig switches due September 24 ports the 48port ones i think will be next year some time if at all, the 48 port ones they planned to release was only 24 multigig ports anyway. The new 24 port multigig switches will be a 3030MP not sure how much of this is supposed to be known but hopefully this helps Ill let others talk about there experience running the switches
  3. Hi all, So really random one this and something totally out of my ordinary adrenalin pumped motorsports hobbies or sim racing or RC cars ive found a love for Falconry, As a Sheffield Wednesday fan ive always been a fan of Owls, so recently i went to one of these Birds on the Hand experiences and oh my god i found it so amazing. I did think it would be cool but no where near to the extent of how cool it actually was. Anyhow ever since ive been starting to do my research into Falconry more, but find it quite difficult to find many people that are into Falconry. My plan is to research and learn more with the plan in the next couple of years to get myself a Bird of Prey like a Harris Hawk (id love an owl but might be too much for me to look after as a first bird) I was just wondering if anyone here might be into Falconry or if anyone else has done a bird on the hand experience and how they found it. I so want to go back and do the Falcons next too, its not the cheapest activity but it just feel incredible with these amazing birds.

  4. Next time your listening if you hear a twit then a twoo then it means there are two owls
  5. Aruba Central for Aruba For Netgear i believe its Insight Cloud portal for there central management but i dont do much with Netgear so someone else might know better on that.
  6. Unfortunately not even using Aruba Central is limited and wont do the voucher system like Cambium or most other vendors sadly, In order to get that you would need to purchase Aurba Clearpass. Its a shame too as would have been a nice finishing piece to the Aruba solution
  7. Yes its a strange one i was having this conversation just the other week with one of my engineers, Aruba pretty much the only ones without a built in system. There are some 3rd party systems available that can integrate into the Aruba. otherwise its just Clearpass but its an expensive solution for a guest portal.
  8. 802.11r can help with roaming when using WPA2 or 3 enterprise. Just a word of warning some older devices dont support 802.11r and it may prevent them from joining the SSID (but this is quite uncommon)
  9. So in regards to roaming, it's important to understand that this is a client decision, each APs advertises it's SSIDs but the client devices decides when to connect and when to leave. That said, there are some things we can do to influence the decision. If you haven't already turn on Dynamic Power as this allows the APs to adjust the transmit power, to prevent the transmit power being too loud. However, if it takes 1 minute for devices to reconnect it would suggest that the device is perhaps trying to join an AP but failing. I would check for missing VLANs on the switches and also for RADIUS errors (for example "RADIUS response is not seen from RADIUS server").
  10. The email [email protected] is correct for sending back the asset forms from just checking one of the sheets for us.
  11. Morning, We got our first couple of Schools got a response back yesterday, this would have been the 3rd week so i would say 3-4 weeks for a response from DfE after sending the asset forms back. Hope this helps
  12. We currently have around 6 schools awaiting, next week will be the 3rd week with none still having a response, Hopefully it will be next week which would mean around 3-4 weeks from submitting. Any longer they really leaving it to the last minute if they are wanting everyone to do in the summer.
  13. Good suppliers dont need catch up meetings, they understand your role and trust that when the time comes to need the supplier you will contact them. I get so many calls from prospects wanting to do business because i didnt chase them daily. Its really simple but too many make it complicated. Hi Mr Prospect, I do XYZ would it be possible to leave my details should you require anything in this area in future. Or if you have a requirement now id be happy to help. You wouldn't believe the amount of managers etc. that hate my approach like this, they say its not asking for business ect, Always funny as a few months later im asked where did you get that prospect from Well Mr Manager, when you laughed at me a few months ago for my approach, well the prospect didnt and has come back to me. Just to give my piece from the other side of the fence
  14. Great to see all the Cambium fans, ive been talking of Cambium for years. Not many had heard too much of it but its great to see now people recommending it. They also have a campaign for a free AP going too for anyone wanting to try before buying
  15. yes unfortunately the RISE list is very widespread available. Im going to take a wild guess here too that these cold callers you never heard of are suddenly approved suppliers for the DfE too haha despite the DfE not having a preferred supplier list. At the same time having worked in sales for a very long time i imagine many of those reps are under alot of pressure to hit numbers, likely measured on KPIs such as number of calls. Drives me insane as that just creates call bashing rather than any quality.
  16. Colonel_Error yes sadly this is one of the downsides to Cisco and the license platform, usually they support i believe 5 years after end of sale. Out of interest when did you purchase the MS350s, if it was recent and they was aware they was going EOL they should have informed you and likely offered the newer ones. Cisco Meraki is great kit but then these things happen and kind of ruins the whole good vibe for the products.
  17. Hopefully the below may help You can use the Bonjour Gateway to allow AirPlay traffic to cross VLANs, for example: Also, here are some useful debugging CLI commands you can run on the AP if you have any issues.
  18. Thats the one Adaptive cruise control haha head went blank for a moment. i must admit i have had the odd occasion where ive felt the car brake hard when i didnt see any reason for it to do so. It is a nice feature i think though once you get used to it haha. It can be annoying when someone overtakes and pulls infront too close which then causes the car to slow down,
  19. Adjustable cruise control fixes this issue perfect in my opinion, my car will brake for me if the car infront slows down, if i indicate to overtake it will also speed upto whatever speed i have it set at. Crusie control is so underrated, it allows the driver to concentrate more of whats happening rather than the speedo. I also have lane assist but i will say i dont ever use that and find it pretty useless, maybe its me doing something wrong.
  20. oh wow, i didnt know this, so the default speed limit will be 20MPH in wales
  21. This is true, although lane 2 is much less likely to be stuck behind lorries so not sure why they like lane 3 and 4 haha As for your point around the new car tech, this is a million pound idea, sadly someone is now likely in process of taking this idea and making millions hahaha
  22. Absolutely, i often play the which lane will be fastest game haha its usually lane 1 or lane 2 again as everyone seems to move straight across into lane 3 and 4. Oh its a funny world we live
  23. sadly this is down to lazy drivers in my opinion not considering others and basically hogging lanes. Lane 1 and 2 i usually find faster as no traffic in them. Lane 3 and 4 has traffic due to hoggers. Its crazy the amount of drivers that hog lanes
  24. i would agree with this, the response would be if you wasnt sure of the limit you should have chosen the lower limit.
  25. Hi, One of our engineers has had a look at this for you and has given the below Many useful suggestions have already been mentioned in this thread, and I would like to add my own thoughts: Firstly, you mentioned that you suspect CCTV traffic may be causing issues. What is the path of CCTV traffic in the network? Does all CCTV traffic go back to one location through a single switch/NVR, or is it dispersed around the network? Since the network has a tree topology, traffic will likely have to pass through several switches before reaching its destination. If your current switches are limited to a 1Gbps uplink, they may become saturated. Here are some tests you could perform: 1. Run a speed test from each switch to establish a benchmark for performance. How close are you able to achieve to the Gigabit speeds? Does one switch perform better than another? This may help you identify any bottlenecks in your network. 2. Conduct a ping test from each switch. Multiple hops or high uplink utilisation may cause high latency, which will be problematic for VoIP. 3. Are QoS settings being preserved throughout the network? Performing a packet capture from different locations will allow you to see if QoS markings are carried through the entire network and in both directions. Is it possible to use LACP to increase bandwidth between switches, servers, NVRs, or other high-bandwidth areas in the network?" Or use separate uplinks and split VLANs across the different uplinks?
