I've been using clonezilla (there is a version that supports UEFI). Created my image then ran sysprep and saved. Works ok maybe not ideal if you have lots to image.

Smart Board + Windows 8.1, USB Device Not Recognised....
ericw400 replied to iSteve's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
I once came across a similar issue with HP laptops (I know yours are Dell) a while back. Try popping a powered USB hub between the board and laptop and see if it makes a difference. For some reason there wasn't enough power from the laptop USB ports. Might not work but worth a try. -
WFS709TP Access Points refusing connection
ericw400 replied to ninjapirate's topic in Wireless Networks
I know this is an old post but did you ever solve the disconnection issue. I am having problems with a WFS709TP with WAGL102s attached. Solid as a rock with laptops but will not keep a connection for ipads. If I power cycle the APs they will connect for a short while and the drop and refuse to reconnect. Many thanks. -
sophos enterprise console 4.5 no longer updating

isa server or internal security blocking outward connection? -
Thanks for the reply. Had a google and it seems to be the lower resolutions are 4:3 which would fit with my problem but the projector won't zoom in enough to make it fit the board. Sorry just posted this but hadn't noticed your edit. I agree about moving the projector but it's on a fixed mount.

Hi. I have a problem with an OHP linked to a Tosh laptop. I can't get the display on the overhead to fill the IWB. Normally I adjust the resolution to 800x600 or 1024x768, tweak the zoom on the OHP and Bob's your Uncle. However with this OHP (Sahara) and Board (Clevertouch) if I use these resolutions the display is to big for the board and the zoom won't go far enough to make it fit. If I use the next resolution up I get a letter box effect on the IWB like I'm watching a film on a 4:3 telly. I really need to try the laptop on another board but wonder if anyone has any suggestions. They used to have a Lenovo laptop in this room and I am told (but didn't see for myself) that this was ok. Thanks in advance.

Didn't have much time on site to try this but sent out update 14 to a test station which had update 12 - hung. Uninstalled java completely from another test station and update 14 installed. I think Angry Technician is right regarding the service. Thanks again everyone.

Yes I'll do that. No didn't customize in any way. Thanks for all your help.

I usually take off the old policy (without uninstalling the previous version) and create a new one. I just wonder if I need to wait a bit longer. I'll try it on a machine next week and leave it for as long as possible to see if it eventually gets there.

kmount - haven't tried that yet. torry loon - I'm installing from GPO. Never had to that before, but always open to ideas. mossj - just install java on a computer and then search for the .msi - in different places depending on the OS. Make sure you copy the whole folder as later versions have a .cab file that needs to be with the .msi

From 12 on mine but some clients could have been 13 if the user had updated manually. Thanks
-
Left it over 30mins, still no joy. Had to cancel and take the policy off. I wonder what it's doing, trying to call home?
-
Anyone having trouble deploying this via GPO. Done the usual things - installed java - found the msi and cab file then fired out by GPO. Only problem is that clients just hang on installation. Tried on more than one server with the same results. Nothing in event viewer. Is this just a bad release or is there something I'm missing.

[ms office - 2003] Tray select in printer information for labels
ericw400 replied to ericw400's topic in Office Software
Thanks for the reply. I can't even get it to save once I have exited envelopes and labels within a document. I can change the default tray ok for the document and save in a template but not for the labels in the envelope and labels section. Maybe it just can't be done. I've had a long google and have found a few people asking the same question but without a reply. -
Hello. I wondered if anyone knew how to set the default tray in labels (tools-letters and mailings-envelopes and labels-labels tab-options-laser and inkjet - tray). I can change it and it stays with my selection until I exit but when I go back in, the setting is lost and it just picks up the previous default. Thanks in advance.

Sahara OHP randomly displaying blue screen
ericw400 replied to ericw400's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Cheers for that. Have been in contact with Sahara, they are coming back to me. -
Hello I have a Sahara OHP in a class room that randomly decides to display a totally blue image (the colour blue before anyone asks!). This can be rectified by powering off the OHP off and back on. This is not good for the teacher who is doing this a few times a day. The desktop the ohp is connected to is fine as is the splitter. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks all. Much appreciated.

Yes I agree, just the cost, schools can be difficult!

These are old smartboards. Serial cable from SB to serial on PC. Inline PS2 connector (to allow PS2 keyboard or mouse to be connected afterwards) with a wire to connect into the serial connector at the PC end to power the SB.
-
Thanks Michael. I think that is the next step but schools are reluctant to pay for the new cable. Would a serial to USB convertor work (apologies if that is what you mean), the current cable is powered from a PS2 port on the Lenovo.

I am having problems connecting a smartboard with serial connection to a new Lenovo tower. I have tried V9 an V10 of the SB software. Everything connects OK on initial install then will not always connect after a reboot. This seems random and is down to the Lenovo machine as it is happening on 2 of them connected to different boards. If the board doesn't connect after reboot and I take the serial connection out of the machine and put it back in, everything works ok until the next reboot. If I connect the smartboard to a Dell everything is fine. Does anyone know of any settings on the Lenovo that could affect the serial port. I have been into device manager and checked the settings for the serial port and they are the same as the Dell. Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
