    It all depends how your network is set up and how confident at mapping printers you are. Yes it is easy to set up a 2008 server and yes it is easy to use this as a print server but remember to add 32 and 64 bit drivers to have full compatibility accross your whole network.

    We use oracle virtual box and sandbox the lot. We use rm cc4 and they have a made it very easy to deploy a secured virtual machine accross the network.

    Hi All We have just installed Clickview 24-7. We have a CC4 network and Clickview Player but i am having issues packaging and building version 2.1 of the player? has anyone else managed this and if so do you have any ideas Thanks Zak :-)

    Excelent looks better now seems HP had updates the APT Repositories and fixed the issue anyone else with this issue head to HP t5325 thin client audio issues - HP Support Forum and hopefully this will be able to help you out. i may also have a play about with the mtu thanks for that one DT2 Z

    i would love to ditch HP but with the school just having gone through a new build and got 106 thin clients i have been forced to fix them good job i am familiar with X-Terminal is all i can say.. But with a free evaluaton of a high end graphics thin client i may need to evaluate and get a price list anyway and to scrap the photography pc's any ideas on the cost of these units from Axel at all??

    Hi all i have around 120 thin clients where i work and as of yet have not been anle to get good quality reliable sound from them All audio (even the windows sounds) are jumpy and stuttering. I have the latest version of the Thin Pro firmware and am accessing a Xenapp server farm via a citrix ICA client i think it might be the remote desktop software that is an issue on the thin client becaue when i log in from a web browser i get perfect quality audio every time any ideas anyone

    Haha combine the usb disk requirement with a blank keyboard set out in dvorak rather than qwerty and i think we have a secure pc that other staff will not be able to abuse....

    lol will get out another roll of gaffer tape for the securing to the wall. we are using version 10 of the drivers (the latest one) hence i am puzzled about it. may head back there this afternoon and re try smartboard driver install again (just in case)

    Hi Everyone got called out to a classroom today where the smartboard wasnot working and for once it actually appears to be a smartboard issue..... I have replaced the PC due to there old one running slow and smartboard constantly freezing on it and when the user goes to use the smartboard the led goes green when you pick up the pen and start writing then within a few seconds begins blinking red and the writing stops. Sofar i have: Reinstalled Smartboard and Drivers Replaced Smartboard Cable Swapped out all pens. and still not working Any ideas anyone... Many thanks Z

    tried to boot plop with no joy after following instructions 1st for windows then on a seperate stick for linux and nope nothing ????? Ultimate usb stick is a dream, but work want my dreams in error free software format and triplicate????? argh why cant computers just be a hobby:doh:

    OUCH i thought our budget was tight this year but that's painful. out of the two sudgestions so far i recon that thin client would suit you the best, yeah the server costs a bit more and you may need to get in outside help for the setup but adding extra stations in the future once it is setup shoule be more economical for you. Also remember average refresh rate for thin client is 10 years (or when the monitor breaks).

    Cheers again Gavinc i had already seen article 2 hence all the old rubish pc's now boot frm it as well. I was on about multiboot as in 1>ghost 2>WinPE 3>Hiren's 4>DSL ect. Regards Zak:D

    Hi Steve I have followed the below sofar but the cd has now sumped me. It boots into pc dos on loading however, the only files on trhe cd are "BOOTCAT.BIN" AND "OSBOOT.IMG" I have tried putting these files on the usb stick to start with but supprise supprise nothing i have tried adding these on top of making it bootable (and even running them from the command prompt afterwards but it dosent want to know). Once again thanks for all your help so far and i am going to keep "playing" and watching this space Zak

    Hi everyone After trawling the forums i cannot find the answer to my question so here goes. I currently have a Ghost boot cd at work that has been here since time began (or at least since before me) and no one knows anything about it but it boots any machine with a cd drive and without using PXE and tftp. Tftp server brings our network to a holt so that is no longer an option but we have some machines with no cd drive (stolen, missing or otherwise). I would like to convert the cd on to many usb sticks (and hide them away from prying eyes) but so far i have only found help to put floppy images onto usb sticks. Any ideas anyone? Cheers Zak
