Yep that worked. I think I was expecting it to be more complicated than it needed to be.

I'm trying to work out some formulas in excel, hopefully someone here can help. I want to work out the percentage of time taken to do a task for example I do helpdesk duties and it's 9 hours of my working week, I work 35 hours a week, is it possible for excel to work out the percentage? I would also want to work out the % of time I spend doing AV jobs and IT jobs. Can't seem to work out how to do the %'s Ta

So having a rearrange of one of our IT Labs, HP Z210 towers 24 inch monitors the works. I suggested to my manager that we mount the base units under the desk, ive done 4 of them and im regretting making the suggestion. its taken me about an hour and half to do these 4. Why do I make suggestions that I know he is going to like.

Thanks for this guys, Ive got a Cannon 600D I knew about the limitaiton on the length of filming, which, when filming for a documentary like I am this shouldn't be an issue. I think as i'm only just starting out and looking to see if its something I want to get into more, the limitations and the filming to the camera itself shouldn't be an issue. What are your thoughts on microphones? I was looking at this Audio Technica or would i be better with a Shotgun Mic

I'm considering getting into some video work. I'm starting a little project, a video documentary/storytelling. I'm going to be using my DSLR, and a tie mic This one Any tips/tricks that anyone knows about for filming and maybe some other equipment (Except a tripod)

I am on day 2 of riding to work, have to say im feeling great and loving the cycle and exercise. One thing I realyl don't like is carrying my bag on my back, does anyone know of a reasonable bag that will attach to my bike for riding but also can be used as a backpack for when im not. (does anything like this even exist?) Any other accessories I could do with or cycling?

That would soooo go in our tool kit, but not sure the boss would swing for it. Although it would come in very handy for the amount of taping we do.

HAHA, we are an Art College and do all the AV, so theres lots of taping done around here

Currently sorting our stationary order and im interested in find out what others think should be in an IT dept's stationery cupboard Currently ive got Gaffa Tape Normal Tape Masking Tape Parcel Tape Bic's Sharpies DVD Spindle CD Spindle Tape for our Label printer Ink for our Epson R3000 What other IT Essentials have I missed off?

Can anyone recommend a projector for me? Ive had a look around but can't find anything matching what I want and wondered if any of your guys have any recommendations. First off its not for a school, and we are looking to invest in a decent projector. It's for he church I go to, at the moment we meet in a hotel function room and I'm looking for a projector something like the following..... HD 5000 Lumens Short Throw (Or changeable lens) Price? not sure if there is anything out there below £3000 that would be great. Thanks for you help

Finally got to see Avengers: Age of Ultron last night. Although missed the first 5 mins because a friend wanted to go for a pint before hand. Thought it was a good movie.

So I started a new job in June last year and since then have been using a Mac as my main machine at work and at home, and strangly enough im starting to find that I prefer a windows machine at work. Im finding that its easier to get things done on a windows machine, shared drives, printing, remote desktop, things just seem quicker, mayber because im used to keyboard shortcuts. Anyone else found the same?

Just started weight watchers becuase we had tried soooo much other stuff that didn't work, so thought it was time to invest money into our health. Lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks (the first 2 weeks) just by eating what they said, but now not lost anything this week, so its time to pickup the pace and do some exercise, something which I really struggle to motivate myself to do, any useful tips for motivation? except the obivous - you'll lose weight. Thanks

Budget wasn't actually £2000, just when I spec'd up a mac thats what it could have cost, know a windows machine would be cheaper. So do you think I could get good results using a high spec windows machine for video stuff? (would be using premiere)

So im considering the possibility of building my own PC or purchasing a Mac and im looking for some recommendations. I already have a Macbook Pro, and an Ipad, but i wanna be able to do a lot of video editing and some gaming, and maybe connect upto my TV in the living room. So I guess my question is super spec high speed windows machine or spend £2000 on a Mac? and I suppose is it possible to actually get good results from a windows machine using premiere for eg, I hear so many good and bad things. What are your suggestions and any recommendations.

Its such a sad thing when a pet dies. I know its not the same but a few weeks ago we had to find our dog a new home, he was a flipping amazing dog we had him from a puppy and he lived with us for 2 years and became part of our family (There was just the 3 of us). but a few weeks ago we where forced to get him rehomed (completely out of our own power). This has totally knocked us both and its been very hard to get over. Obviously I know he is safe but the thought of him being in a rehoming centre breaks me. I can't even look at photos of him. Its only been about 3/4 weeks, so im hoping that it gets easier. He used to get a little bit of food when I was making my box for lunch and I keep cutting certain foods that he used to get and cutting an extra bit for him, then realising that he isn't there, and when the door goes and its just silent, no barking (Kinda miss it). Anyway sorry ti hijack the thread I know its not the same as the original post, but it hurts and its actually nice to find people who understand how Dogs (and any other pets) become part of the family. I got told by other family that I was stupid and needed to sort my life out if im going to get upset over a dog (great support). Anyway again sorry for hijacking. Peace

Hi, trying to edit a mandatory profile, The student requires a White background, large font, black font on desktop icons and a larger mouse pointer. Hope that makes sence

I was wondering if there is anyone on here from Scotland? or if any knows how IT support works in Schools in scotland? The Wife and I are wanting to move to Scotland, Glasgow/Edinburgh Location. But I keep looking for Jobs in Education up there and can't ever find anything. So I'm wondering do Technical Staff in Scotland never move or do Scottish Schools use a managed Service? If they have there own staff could someone maybe give me a bit of guidance as to where I should look as I've been trying to find jobs up there for a while now. Thanks
