    Yeah good option - I just offered the script I wrote (which is in a sperate thread as this chap started a new thread and didn't reply on original) so people could have dynamic automated signatures for free. I have a script I need to put on here for doing it to web mail / Office 365 as well.

    You should just be able to add the following to the variables list $exAtt1 = $user.extensionattribute1$exAtt2 = $user.extensionattribute2 etc. Let me know if you need that explained further. Thank you.

    No sorry the switch is dedicated to his company. The use the DC for DNS but not DHCP as I had no access to the router to disable its DHCP, I am currently in talks with the manager of the building to let me have access to it so I can disable DHCP and have the Domain Controller run DHCP. The DNS forwarders are pointed to Googles DNS Yeah it is just a Hyper-visor nothing else. And yes clients are only connecting to the DC for authentication, DNS and print. It is domain joined. It is the same subnet, and default gateway, with the DC as DNS and its x.x.x.250 where as the guest OS IP is x.x.x.251 And the task scheduler just has the usual default stuff nothing else. Other than running Server core with the hypervisor role and being domain joined its practically stock. Thank you very much

    Completely standard no additional configuration cisco switch that the landlord of the building had installed, this is partly why some of helping this little company is hard, there is a server room / comms room but the landlord doesn't allow access to it so its just stock single vlan configuration across the full switch, going up to the BT business router the ISP put in. Hopefully nothing switch related as thats never been changed.

    Hello everyone, Any ideas around this one would be appreciated. Every Thursday a small company I help out get into work and have no internet on their machines that use the DC (SVR-01) as their DNS, as a test one machine has the router (BTBusiness one we have no real access to) as their secondary DNS and that one can still get internet. The DC (SVR-01) can still be pinged and tracert but the Host that VM it is on (HYP-01) cannot be pinged or tracert, it as if it is no longer on the network. It cannot be pinged by machines or by the VM on it but machines can still ping and tracert the guest on it. I can also still get onto it externally with screen connect. If you reboot the Hypervisor all returns back to normal and will remain normal till the next Thursday. It used to do it on a Monday, then after some Windows updates on a weekend, the issue moved to a Thursday....I haven't been able to try a great deal, as the issue occurs very early hours on a Thursday morning, and they need to be up and running by 8am, so I have a tiny window in the morning to try stuff, then have to wait a week to see if it works. The Host is a HP Micro server Gen10 and is running Server Core 2019 (Hyper-V) and the domain controller is Server 2019 Essentials. Checked error logs and there are no obvious system logs just one warning at around the same time the issue starts on both the SVR and the HYP that DNS failed to resolve for screen connect. Hoping to get together ideas from fresh eyes, my next test a friend suggested is to disable VMQ as there are reports of this causing random connectivity issues on HP servers - my only concern there is this is practically a scheduled issue. EDIT: The host can still ping the guest while its having this issue but not vice versa. Thanks in advance.

    Been doing more work this project. Coming this weekend if time permits. A second script which can be used to set Outlook Web Signatures that also use the information from active directory etc. Is it possible for me to edit my first post to update it? Or can Admins help me edit the first post? The script and output has been updated many times since my original post and it would be nice if I could update the original post with more up to date information such as a link to the YouTube video I made helping with the setup of this script etc.

    Hmm not sure what the best way to go about it would be as to get the details from azure AD they would need powershell modules and stuff.

    I can only repeat what others have said the better options would be to use Group Policy Preferences, if you need help with this let us know.

    Version 3 released: https://github.com/captainqwerty/AutomatedOutlookSignature/releases/tag/v3.0 This has some neater parts and a fix for when the user's device is not currently on the domain it doesn't blank their signature.

    After looking at your script sir, I recommend we consider implementing my script I will help you do it if you like we can get it to look how you like. I see yours is using a reconfigure docx and doing a replace in the document to build a new signature and using word to do all the saves, this is a bit more intense than it needs to be

    Hello Kelechi93, You are totally free to edit my script to make it how you like, there is nothing in it to stop you All I was doing with mine was providing a base line for those that didn't know where to start. If you like I can sit and help you get it working how you would like for your environment and help you get past the error you are having. I am currently at work and your code post has been formatted badly by the thread, so I when I get home I will copy and paste it into VS Code and take a look as well But yes you can use my script and we can totally change it to suite your organisation. Please feel free to PM me if you would like some one to one assistance with this EDIT: Sorry I just realised you meant is there anything stopping the users editing their own signatures after the fact, well we can talk about this, you can allow them to edit their own but you lose the dynamic overwriting of their signature as we would have to use the Apply Once rule on the GPO. Or if you let me know the type of things your users will add we can look at doing it via security groups like I do at my current place of work. We have some users that need a Health and Safety badge and I used a security group so it only adds that badge to those users all contained in the same script Thank you.

    I have updated the script to allow extra information based on a security group The example in the script is if you are a member of IT team it will add a line to the signature about contacting the IT Helpdesk I added this a while ago but forgot to update the link in here. I will also be updating the signature script to use a nicer format soon and will update you guys on here when I have uploaded. Thank you.

    Just for any novice to PowerShell or AD using this, I would personally comment out the Remove-Item line (put a # at the start of it) so you just get a bunch of write hosts saying what it was going to do, that way if you see a bunch of directories you were not expecting you pointed it at the wrong OU Other than that, thanks for sharing BKGarry

    You could use group policy to enable win RM and just use Powershell to query all devices for the info you want. If you would like some help with any PowerShell feel free to message me - I love a bit of PowerShell

Is there a reason you are not just using the Temp folder and want to redirect their signature location? You can use the registry to repoint the signature folder location and if you use a UNC path I think it should work.
