Antivirus software could be intercepting and caching certificates.

I plan to switch everything that can't be upgraded to LTSC, not much else that can be done with no budget to replace 4th and 6th gen kit. 7th gen installs fine for me.

Coronavirus: General discussion (see opening post for rules)

Still coughing 6 weeks later; getting better -very- slowly. Went for a walk 2 weeks ago and nearly passed out. Since then been topping up my electrolytes and ensuring I take deeper, longer breaths. Can't wait for this cough to end. -

Finally sorted the mortgage. Was not easy. But it's now just a simple, repayment mortgage. No complicated shenanigans. Phew.- 564 replies

Yeah, term-time + 2 weeks. Meets my needs for caring for relatives etc. -

The only debt I have is the mortgage. No missed payments, CCJs etc. You'd think brokers would be interested, but very few continue to listen after they see the low income mostly topped up with benefits and a 'small' mortgage. (lower % commission vs other customers) The ones charging a fee are more willing to help, but when a remortgage falls through, those fees aren't refundable. Having such an odd mortgage doesn't help my credit worthiness. Some lenders do a credit check and don't even SEE a mortgage. Then you've got to wait months for the 'hard search' to be non-recent enough not to affect a new application. That's what's currently holding things up. -

It's a very complicated mortgage. Part interest only, part endowment. Part of it is variable at 8%, biggest chunk is the endowment at a fixed payment of £700. 30k of it is at 0% - Don't even know how that is a thing that happens. The APRc% is 18.5%, which compares with a repayment mortgage for the same amount with the same monthly payment over the same term. Yeah. It's a very complicated mortgage. -

I've cut food down to cheap multipack noodles and vitamin pills. No food banks where I live, unless you count the free food for old rich folk at the Kings house. -

Stopped paying the TV tax. There's only freesat reception where I live and that hasn't been good either recently. -
Yeah, the build media shows 10.0.19041, the OS when installed shows 10.0.19045 as expected.

If it's mounting a .vhd for the user, I guess it'll be limited to a single logon rather than multiple concurrent logons.

Went to the local branch of my building society on Saturday to see what options were available after the announcement of new support measures after the mortgage summit on Friday. They didn't even know anything about it... and then they said they didn't deal with mortgages in branch. ...It's a building society. ...That doesn't deal with mortgages... -

Never had a fixed rate, never had savings either. I'll be eating worms when this rate goes up. -

AppLocker still works for me. Make sure the Application Identity service is still running.. and that you're using a supported edition. Education or Enterprise, no Pro variants. -
Seems risky to me. What happens when Microsoft change the format of the start2.bin file and suddenly no users can get a start menu or taskbar because the app has crashed?

Look at the virtualisation settings. Edge will use virtualisation if it's available. Nested virtualisation can be a real performance killer.

I know at least a dozen people recently that have been very unwell, same symptoms, negative tests, ending up with a chest infection. It's everywhere, it's not going away. -

If you apply the certificate revocations, none of the current build media will boot. Not even the most recent ISO. Nothing has been released yet that will. -

This does affect VMs if your virtualisation hosting supports secure boot and boot certificate revocation.
