    Hi AChandler, what is the third party software you are using. Arthur you need to keep all data with any information on students within the EU or face breaching data protection - teaching staff keep records on their home drives.

    Rather than moving the home drives to onedrive we are asking staff to copy up files they want to keep, and hopefully use ruler to create a folder structure for students to save work into class groups created from our MIS.

    I am using it at present it give 5tb of storage to recovery services and or any services you wish to try and as I previously stated we pay £90/month. We are also hoping in the near future to use Azure Iaas and move a majority of our server into the cloud, does anyone here have any previous knowledge.

    MS - OPEN AZURE ACADEMIC Part number:5S4-00003, costing works on a credit basis 5tb works out at 18 credits @ £61.09 per credit. Azure can be bought under education licensing we us Capita as we find other providers less knowledgeable.

    That's excluding VAT, however you do get the chance to test other azure products; a question on free backups to google - where is the data stored.

    Currently backing up 5tb to Azure, open license £90/month. You can either use DPM2012 R2 or a separate backup on each server.
