Hi FN-GM, The access points are Aruba but labelled Dell. The WAPs pick up random ip addresses themselves, not static so at the moment I don't know what address they had before they dropped out.

I'm hoping that someone can shed light on the following. Last week I could see all 18 waps but now only 12 are showing in the Dell, Virtual controller. All WAPs are plugged in ALL lights are green and steady. Hi NB9457, It was a month ago when we spoke last. I left this ip range task until this Feb half term as I was a little scared . I have now changed the servers ip address , gateway, subnet etc and pcs are now picking up addresses from the new range which is ace!. However, if I disable the original scope then pcs cannot connect to the internet. I receive message after diagnosing " windows can't communicate with device or resource (primary DNS server). I activate the original scope and all is well again. I have tested printing and that works too. Would it be detrimental to leave both scopes activated? regards

No, I didn't know I should. I made the assumption that an additional range meant that it could be used alongside the original scope. I have a lack of knowledge in this area. So, will it be necessary to scrap the original scope then and replace it with new?

The new assigned Range - 10.4.120.0 255.255.252.0 /22 Gateway - 10.4.120.1 the original range is 10.4.219.0 with subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 the new scope successfully activated.

I have just been assigned an additional ip scope by our broadband supplier for our school network, we were running out of addresses for clients. No matter what I try no clients are pciking up the new range. I have tried the following with no success. turned off firewall disabled original 'working' scope restarted the server - updates good on the server restarted DCHP services I have been advised that it may be a case of scrapping the original ip range and only assigning the new one, which obviously will require a lot of work as we have reserved ip addresses for some of our clients. I can't understand why an additonal range would not work. I have checked all details with the broadband supplier including subnet mask and gateway etc. If someone has any ideas I wouold appreciate it. I would like to avoid the school forking out extra money to an outside IT company if possible.

Hi PrimaryNetMan, I thought it may have been the school wifi and permissions /filters etc but, it is a little confusing as the Samsung tablet and other devices such as phones worked.

I work in a primary school and we have 9 x Nexus 7 tablets. I have been able to download Expeditions app but cannot use the app. When launching 'guide' mode the app shuts down. I can launch in 'explorer' mode and detect a guide on the Nexus (am able to launch the guide on a Samsung tablet) but the expedition does not start. I have tried this on both the schools' Dell /Aruba wifi, dual band, and at home just in case there was an issue on the schools network. The Nexus 7 has the latest ios 5.1.1. I would appreciate any advice, we have had a demonstration by a Google representative and the school is very keen to use our own devices. Thanks in advance

A member of our school staff is using the Outlook app on their iPad so that they can manage a few email accounts. Unfortunately whilst the iPad has the school proxy settings entered, attachments do-not download. error is shown 'error retry'. Proxy settings are rolled out by our device management system and it is necessary to manually switch them off in order to download the attachments. Does anyone have any ideas?

I asked the question with Lightspeed device management and received this reply "Currently this is not supported within the API payload. I would recommend contacting Apple regarding this". Off I go to Apple. I will be back later with an update.

Hi, We have 100 iPads in our Primary school and I would like to know if it is possible to create a folder to contain certain shortcuts. It is to help with organisation for the different year groups. I know this can be done on each device but am wondering if it can be done within device management software, we have Lightspeed. Thanks in advance
