True, however let me put you in my lounge for a moment, picture the scene, you sit down to watch some tv film etc, your mac is fast "asleep" you click on your library from your iPhone/iPad/apple tv and your mac resumes from sleep having set the wake on network access tickbox. You then enjoy your episode of x. Granted the mac had previously been booted up and auto logged in as me and iTunes auto started and the gone to sleep/locked but that my experience. Next question?

I have now made headway with this and my only remaining issue is that of reporting - I have created a custom report to show entries for a student which works ok but i cannot get it to report on Confidential Entries, It seems just to miss them out despite the fact i have permission to view them. Any thoughts anyone?

Is anyone out there using Sims communication Log? We are trying to use it to keep track of students communication (phonecall from home to home, comments from Heads of year) etc etc etc The logic of Sims communication log seems to be escaping me as it does seem to function in any logical way - either that or its just plane broke. Does anyone use any other software for this?

Thanks for the replies folks. The general concensus im getting is Dell, not just from here but from many other sources. Dell have contacted me a few mins ago and revised there price down by 3K with 30mins left on the tender timeout - unbelievable! I am fairly new to smoothwall , and was wondering if i could ask other school admins that use the platform what settings they use for Dynamic Content Analysis setting trip limit. I very happy with with the system but just intrested what other schools set there trip limit at for that particular filter on smoothwall. Any advice appreciated.

No does not switch to sims regardless of focus. I agree it must be persmissions but i cant see what as im domain and local admin and am running the script from dekstop and have tried running from root of C:\

Yes on 7.140 Having tried the tab count and it is still 13. What seems odd is that once all the variables are set for the script it just stalls and i can see no activity at all almost as if Win7 does not seem to underdstand what ws.sendkeys means. Im sure ive used this before on Win 7 so im a little at a loss.

I have a linux box with a mounted windows share on called say "share1" i can get to in Gnome, it says its mounted and all is good Question: how do i get to it in terminal? I am trying to map a drive drive in a windows environment based on the users location (AD OU in fact) Basically we have a confidential area and I do NOT want to map the drive when say a head of year is in a classroom. We operate mandatory profiles which further complicated matters. Any suggestions gratefully received

We its basically due to the teachers desk being a fixed island with power but no A/V, The only way to get VGA/sound to the wall would be to dig up the floor.

Does anyone have experience of using Wireless or Wired (TCP/IP) projectors?, we have an difficult project to install projectors in 3 rooms where running A/V lines is going to be especially difficult.

Vickpaw, WORKING! using your latest script and adding a few waits in the script completes a 49 column template in a little over 18 seconds. I cannot tell you how greatful I am for this!!! Great work and Thank you. Such a shame though we have to go to these lengths to make software do things it should be capable of in the first place

Speaking for myself, i would not recommend anyone go to office 2010 that is using Sims. The Sims.net package really slows down when it comes to ammending indvidual reports and as for report designer its pretty much slows to a crawl. Just unistalling it and putting it back to 2007. I do agree though that Capita needs to support new releases of office faster than this. tThe final RTM for 2010 has been available for some time. Its fortunate other software developers dont do things the way capita does as if they did the world would grind to a halt everytime a new office release comes out.

No luck with that sorry, i get to right column and it opens and changes the result set but it does not quite reach the update button before going to next column.

Hi Vikpaw, being playing with this script a little and have to say despite my efforts i am unable to get it working. It gets as far as the result set selection, which it does but seems to stick before the update button is pressed. Looking at your script its basically the ws.SendKeys "+{TAB}" That seems to be incorrect in my configuration as it gets stuck on the "hidden" check box, If i try to change the command to a fixed number of tabs it gets stuck on the next column Any ideas? Sims version 7.128, trying to update a template with only data entry in itusing variables 34,35,4,0 passed to script Any help greatly appreciated and nice work by the way for coming up with this that (if i can make it work) will save me hours of work! regards Naz
