I wish you the best of look with getting a dedicated member of staff to look after the VLE or additional member of staff. Although i sympathise with your situation, i think many of the users of this forum are in similar or worse state then your school. With the introduction of a VLE what would it be that ICT technicians would be required to do? Look after the system? update user accounts? etc?

Does the site mention anything about using Moodle? I know the company will host Moodle installs for schools but this quiz doesnt seem to be a 'Moodle' Quiz? Its written using mootools?

I have tried to set GPO to turn the monitor off/standby after 15 minutes. I have set it in GPO see screen shot, but its not being applied! Any tips?

WE had a dodgy patch of monitors, CRT not tft though! we had to send them back to Germany to get them replaced. We could send a maximum of 4 at a time (60 in total had to be sent back!!) Fax through the serial numbers in advance, then they would send DHL with some big padded boxes for us to send them back. Pain!

I've found that this is also being put into practice in Hertfordshire also, so would appreciate any feedback from anyone in herfordshire. I've been speaking to a friend who works in Warwickshire school, they want to start using Moodle. He is new to the position and has been told that there school has been provided with WE LEARN from RM. Can anyone Expand on this, I've checked out the RM site on WE LEARN and it doesnt throw up any information on the VLE content provision side. I know Kaliedos is the normal VLE provided from RM, Any information on WE LEARN greatfully recieved.

My solution for podcasting was: Using our Moodle installation (Version 1.8.2) Turn RSS on, Enable RSS in Forums Ran the CRON job Then created a forum with RSS enabled, and told the RSS feed to pick up forum discussions Ran the Cron job again To generate the valid XML for the RSS Feed, Then added forum discussion to the forum, on a per podcast basis. Adding the quicktime movie files i wanted to display as an attachement. Then i turned the quicktime (.mov) media filter on I then added a remote RSS feed block to the front page of the site adding the RSS Feed as the link to the XML generated by the Moodle forum. Bobs your uncle, I also autmated then cron.php job every 15 minutes.

Whats wrong with Moodle?

You could always buy a web based reporting solution, which you could extract teacher a pupil class information from SIMS, i know of one which would take SIMS data and import that into the report?
