  1. I'm not sure about this but using the survey tool might be a start?!
  2. Congrats mate! Enjoy!
  3. I'm not sure about the rest of your problems but we get this quick flash - its basically just checking with the server whether there are any updates! Hope you get sorted!
  4. It called the SIMS.net Learning Gateway - its based on Sharepoint either the free version or the MOSS07 - and the Gateway is formed of webparts. You can deploy bits which you want through activation of certain webparts. Check out SIMS - Schools Information Management System - Capita Education Services and I think there is a demo there - i'm not sure if its the most recent version though!
  5. If you have Sharepoint installed [free version or MOSS] then you can use that to do - integrates well with AD and its can send out emails too!
  6. Happy Birthday - have a nice day!
  7. You have to change the timings of the lessons in Nova T and send that back to SQL. Also check Tools|Setups|Lesson Monitor Setups!
  8. I think its a matter of training - if I see a workstation unlocked I tell that person! Reminding staff and forcing 10 minute screensavers lockouts is always a good way!
  9. I would start from fresh - at least you know what's happening and you know you've done it right - and its clean start!! Hope everything goes well - let us of know if you have any more problems!
  10. Congratulations !! Have a fantastic day!
  11. Sounds like a great idea - I'd like a copy please!
  12. Yes - the webparts can be used through the Sharepoint portal.
  13. To use Lesson Monitor you must have Sims.net installed. Lesson Monitor v6 is a standalone application however this to be unsupported and removed as from December. All staff should use the familiar, more friendly UI of .NET by doubling clicking on time line of class OR Focus --> Lesson Monitor. Good Luck...its not that bad!
  14. If only you were in Birmingham ... or the West Midlands!
  15. If you have Sharepoint or a Portal in place can you not upload it there?
  16. I think its a very positive move to merge domains!! Security implications can be managed - and the network can be secured with Group Policy objects and VLANS and a whole host of other things. It also helps with stuff like rolling out your MIS across the whole school! For the name thing - you could : 1. Start off with a new network - and start afresh; 2. Stick with the domain being curriculum - [although I wouldn't - it might confuse people!] 3. Try something like this: http://www.petri.co.il/windows_2003_domain_rename.htm Go for it!
  17. I would love to see this! It would bring some humor to the day!
  18. I'm not sure about your error, but a workaround is that everything for Attendance & Lesson Monitor should be in Sims.net - therefore there is no real reason of needing that Attendance module!
  19. Have you considered Sharepoint [WSS]?
  20. I would guess it due to dependencies held across the Sims.net db. Good Luck!
  21. I think AIM High might suit your requirements exactly but its based on Secondary Curriculum! Alternatively have you looked at Sims.net Profiles which does the same thing - we moved to it so that we can centralise everything to Sims.net.
  22. Yes... you can use rdesktop.
  23. You could use Sharepoint [free version] if you've got windows server... it fairly good and may well meet your requirements.
  24. You have to remember that you will have to use Windows if you Sims.net/CMIS.
  25. Sims.net Behaviour has this built in. 1. You need to record the incidents/achievement - Record it using the Categories; 2. Use normal Sims.net reporting to pull up reports. 3. If you want to do letters/certificates, use reporting mail merge to do that. You may need to look at the Behaviour Handbook to get started.
