I don't suppose many will think too much (or care) about what is going to happen in 10 years’ time as the imediate hole has been plugged / box ticked. I guess you could just buy new Unifi kit in 10 years (if it still exists!). I imagine any Unifi kit that is currently installed would need replacing by that point anyway. If the hit in one financial year is a concern then it could be purchased over a few years if necessary (prior to the Meraki licences expiring). I don't think the licencing models are the same on the other compliant systems which I believe are Zyxel, Aruba and Ruckus?

Has anyone who has stayed with sims seen any of the 'Next Gen software features from early 2022' that were spoken about?

I think the government have got bigger issues to worry about today . Theoretically though what would be a good alternative? I've always used Hikvision myself and found it excellent. I've never used it personally but I've heard some good things about Reolink kit.

Same here, I was surprised (although I guess I shouldn't have been) as none of the other 10+ systems we had integrated with SIMS charged us. The technician at InVentry I initially spoke too about said it was a quick straightforward job but someone from sales would have to be in touch. The email from sales then stated how it was a very long and complex process and as such they have to charge... It took them under an hour to do. What choice do we have but to pay unless we abandon them? Frustrating

Does anyone know who the DfE email if you are eligable? I'm conscious it may get missed depending on where it goes.

Does anyone know how to create new sequence groups in the firewall policy section on Fortigates? There are some already there that have been created by some else but I want to create some more to keep things neat instead of shoehorning new policies into existing groups. The image below shows the type of groups I'm trying to create, I would have thought this would be a simple 'Create new group' button but I can't find one. I can however right click existing groups and rename.

Yeah ours have 2 cores and were unusable on 2019. On the 2021 version they are just about getting by for simple tasks.

I've not tried with 11, but our DfE HP laptops with that spec (possibly same as yours?) were running really badly on our 2019 LTSC image (CPU maxing out just using chrome), but I've tried them on 2021 LTSC and they run much better.

I would echo this point, with the amount of sockets I've moved from one side of a room to another (and then back again a year later), I always try to allow enough points all around the room for desk relocation as it is a regular occurrence.

I'd be inclinded to think like you its an issue with your connection, but your DHCP issue casts doubt on that. Does the dhcp issue only happen at the same time as the internet outage? Is it only affecting devices joining the network during the issue time, or do devices loose their IP that were already connected?

Ah I see, is this a new connection? Are you able to ping the router during the issues & do you have VLANS?

What firewall do you have? Can you connect to/ping that when the issue is happening?

Ah okay that makes sence, it's just presented 12 disks to the server and they've created the raid in disk management. It's working fine at the moment, I was more looking into how it was setup incase it goes wrong in the future, mainly disk failure as they are quite old. I guess it would just be a case of replacing the drive and then repairing the raid in disk management.

Yes, it has been (not by me) connected directly to a hp proliant via the two sas connectors. It shows as 'D' drive, and looks to be in raid 5 (with 12 drives all which show in disk management), but I'm unable to view any detailed information that I would be able to see in the storage management utility. Maybe it was originally setup when it was connected to another box which has a networkable controller.

Maybe a silly question as SMU is accessed via the GUI, but it is possible in any way to access the storage management utility on a P2000 if both controllers are the AP844B (below) and is not connected to another storage array with a networkable controller? Thanks

I'm looking at this myself, and leaning towards Azure. I looked into using a reseller and them hosting it but the monthly cost was eye watering.

You should be able to assign SSID's to specific VLANS. If you go to settings, wireless settings and select the SSID there should be a drop down called 'Network' which lists your VLANS. You'll need to add the vlans in the Networks tab, select 'vlan only'. If that option is not showing you may have the New User Interface, I had to turn that off in settings/user interface for the vlan options to show.

Slightly different query here, but I didn't want to start a new thread and was hoping you hp experts can help! I'm currently experimenting in the office with 5 X 2810-48G's and getting aggregated links working correctly (for redundancy and increased bandwidth). The crude diagram below is what I want to achieve, the two switches on the right connected together with ports 43,44,45,46 to create a 4GB link between the two, and then a ring from port 47 on both of those through ports 47/48 on the three on the right. From reading I believe I can link the right two together using 4 ports by settings ports 43,44,45,46 on those switches to 'Trk1 - LACP'? I'm struggling to find what I need to do on the ports that are creating the ring of five switches. I've enabled spanning-tree on all switches. Thanks
