hey Esteban did you go through the whole document? There's an awful lot of "should" and very little "must" - We use the term ‘must’ when the person in question is legally required to do something and ‘should’ when advice is being offered.

All 3 brands you've listed are fine - there's those I wouldn't touch, but they are really at the cheapest end of the market.

guess your staff aren't even logging into SIMS then, as it's got a perfectly functional missing register alert system. maybe a script to identify those who haven't got SIMS running and email those?

look at the sims powerbi examples they released - John Christian has done a lovely excel template that passes dynamic dates into your reports.

I'm not particularly understanding why they need to be on two different MIS at the same time. Does each school have their own SIMS database? this is not that unusual a situation - but it's not going to be painless. as BKGarry has said above - you're gonna have to make them leave the current school and join their new one, and this has to happen when the actual physical student is scheduled to move. You can do this over the Easter holiday? Once that is done then the student will only appear on one of the MIS databases. So they must leave one school and join another. Is there anything complicated going on where you've got some of your third party apps using a different database where all the students are merged?

You can record Vegan in "dietary requirements" which can be modified in the lookups setup screen if you haven't already got that option. My ParentPay expert here doesn't think that the tills see any of this info however.

Yes, there's a panel on your SIMS homepage (in the SIMS.net software on your PC) that you can enable called "SLG Alerts" - it'll show you when you have a new data collection sheet to review and provides a link to "routines - SLG & SIMS Online - Data Collection sheet"

get your timetabler to make sure each class has a main class teacher set in Nova doing it in sims itself runs the risk of a nova import shredding it.

Back on topic- I think what I did last time someone actually wanted to use it was to make a copy - do my changes and then get the network administrator to force a copy onto each of the users PCs. It's an archaic system.

I was going to suggest that within the sims admin portal you can nominate an account for alerts - but actually it doesn't affect anything as I get the SLG alerts and I didn't put my details in. It's not always superfast to update the SLG alerts window in SIMS - are they still not showing today?

did you add anyone as a SLG alert admin?

Can you clarify what an "unlinked teacher" is? (and possibly how do I spot them...) Is it when you get an error on import because it can't find a member of staff with the same code within SIMS itself?

Remote would work better - getting time out of school is an absolute nightmare.

Personally I'm not sharing to the web - but if you want to share it don't you have to publish it to the web? (even if you do it through your own office365 tenanacy)

well worth getting them all listed and then investigating the config options on each before you start - it'll avoid the screams when you forget to fix one of them and something somewhere doesn't work.
