ah right - the whole point in our screensaver would be PRE login, dont really need them once users are logged in, because generally they are fairly active once logged in.

Hi all, The first thing that is putting me off even thinking about deploying 8 is the tiles "feature" or the metro interface, whatever its called. Basically - the lack of a start menu! But I put that to the side thinking that surely there would be a group policy folder redirection for the tiles - how wrong was I?? Does anyone know how exactly I'm supposed to deploy a managed tile interface, there's no way I can deploy windows 8 if I cant manage the UI. I really feel like Microsoft has let us down with this, even OSX lets you manage a dock!!! Thanks

how dynamic can Xibo be? i'd literally like to be able to connect one pc up to the screen, and from another pc send content updates that appear fairly quickly? thanks

Have you also tried removing the fast track, taking it to your office and plugging it into your pc?

If plugging a set of headphones into the headphone jack of the mac is totally fine but going via the USB Fast Track isn't ok then its fairly obvious its the Fast Track at fault. Does the fast track require power from mains? If so, try moving to another socket. What happens when you plug an input into the fast track, but mute that input, is the hum still there? What about when you plug an input into the fasttrack and play sound (e.g.) a guitar, is the hum still there? THanks

Hi all, We run a 1 hour weekly "radio" station for students. We have a big monitor that we have mounted and we want to display some dynamic information, such as tweets, songs playing now and next etc. Is there any software (free?) out there that anyone knows of that could do this? We'd probably only need a few columns on the screen, one for tweets, one for text we've typed and one for an image? Thanks!

I have a small cheap (and old) netgear nas device that supports time machine, so I do hourly time machines to that nas. I then also use CCC to clone the entire disk to usb hard drive once in a while for extra piece of mind. Theres very little on our xserve so backups are fairly small.

Could you elaborate exactly what you've done so far? And what your trying to achieve etc? Have you followed the "magic triangle" ?

Hi all, Theres a certain group policy that I want only Windows 7 computers to get, so i've setup a wmi filter... select * from Win32_OperatingSystem WHERE Version like "6.1%" AND ProductType="1" works well. Now I want the same policy to also apply to Windows Server 2008 R2, what would I need to add to the above as Im a bit stuck! Many thanks

Sorry I dont really see what you mean by bundle application, my only options in the install applications part of the task sequence are "install multiple applications" or "install a single application" but theres no box for alternative credentials etc...

where abouts can i put credentials, cant see anything in the application or task sequence.

ah right ok, i think ill try mdt tomorrow (already have a room imaging at the min so dont wanna mess) if that fails ill just stick with my good old vbs that literally calls my batch file lol. i'll return with more info! thanks for your help so far everyone.

Wow, im confused now! I dont know what my best bet is, to install the two apps using MDT or to try to get the vbscript to work properly, or to just leave it as it is ......... If I do the MDT app deploy route what do I put in the command line and working directory boxes?

jamo - i cant do what you suggested as the user im logged in with doesnt have any permission to the unc path, hence the mapped network drive with credentials....thats why i mapped a drive :S

i shud jus put these apps in the fricking task sequence ;P would have been easier to learn how to do that then mess with vb haha ive started now tho....will get back to you in 5

mac yea ur right, if i tell it not to unmap it works ok...

ok, it looks as if the drive is being mapped n then deleted before sophos can even have time to install

yeah i dont even see it map the network drive :S
