Thanks Oak - however, seeing 99% could mean that either there is an approved update waiting to be installed but hasn't installed, or it could mean that there is an update there but not approved so doesn't need installing. I'd like to be able to differentiate between the two - it's not that the 99% offends me, it's that I don't know if it means I'm up to date or not. Also, the declining option would be good, but I have test groups. I approve for my test groups first, allow them to get too 100%, and then approve for my live groups. By this point though, I've then approved another set of updates for my test groups, meaning the live groups can never possibly get to 100%. If I declined, it declines for all groups, which I don't want. I need them for my test groups, and then eventually my live groups. if that makes sense... thanks

Does anyone have any thoughts about this? What do you do in your own scenarios? I've googled a lot but cant seem to find anything solid? Thanks

Hi, I have a test group and a live group in WSUS. The test group receives updates 1 week before the live group. Because of this, the live group machines never show 100%. This is because WSUS has updates available, but they have not yet been approved for the live group machines, if this makes sense. So, you will see things like this So the machines don't show 100%, even though they are really fully up to date, with all updates available to them. This makes it very difficult to check, at a glance, which machines require updates in my live group. I can't decline the unapproved updates, as they are actually in use in my test group. Is there any way around this, so my machines show as 100%, or at least so I can see which ones require updates? Thanks

Anyone any suggestions? I've done a lot of Googling but don't seem to be getting anywhere. If this is just a bug, I'll just leave it as that, but i'd like to know for certain if at all possible thanks

Hi, I'm using WSUS and i'm trying to make my Windows 10 machines auto install, and reboot. I've got a schedule install time, and told the computer to reboot. Once the update installs I receive the message "your organization will restart your device to finish updating windows" at a particular time. That time comes, and goes and the machine doesn't reboot. Then the time changes to a later time, that time comes and goes, and doesn't reboot. Anyone any suggestions?

Ok, so im struggling with Windows 8, and Windows XP now. Windows 8 and XP are both supposed to be KB4012598. But when I search for this in WSUS, I don't get any XP or 8 updats, just server 2008 and vista. Anyone know why this could be? Thanks

ok, so I've managed to find May Rollup: KB4019264 Windows 7 32, Windows 7 64, Windows Embedded 7 32, Windows Embedded 7 64 and May Rollup: KB4019215 Windows 8.1 32, Windows 8.1 64 but I cant find the Windows 8, or 10 versions :/ please help!

Hi, I do understand what your saying and ideally I would approve all updates, however for speed, I just want to patch for this outbreak. So these monthly updates then, is there some how a way to get a list of these, for each Windows version, so I can JUST approve those? Thanks

Hello As like probably most other people here, when we found out about the wannacry situation we all panicked and wondered if we where protected from the smb vulnerability. So, at my place we had no wsus so we quickly installed it, approved wannacry related updates and started a deployment as quick as we could reboot our machines. However, when you add updates to wsus for approval. Somehow I've ended up with multiple different ones, all for the same kb number. So I'll have a 32bit and 64bit etc. Also we have a very wide range of OS here. Windows xp, 7,8,8.1,10 and windows pos ready/embedded. Also, the media seemed to publicise one particular security update, but I've since discovered that one released in may(later than the publicised one) actually contained the patch too. So I've approved this too. And now I'm properly confused in wsus and finding out if I'm protected. So I suppose my question is, is there a definitive list somewhere of what updates I can approve to ensure we are protected. And does this said list protect each version of windows I have? I'm properly confused with this whole superseding thing etc too. I basically just want to know simply if I'm protected. And to be able to produce a report. Finally, most of my machines in wsus show 99% even though I knew they've installed the updates I've approved. Not sure why this is. Thanks

Hi, I'm using AOMEI to do a quick dirty image of Windows 7. I know this isn't the best option but it's all i have for now. Anyway, as part of creating the AOMEI boot disk it used WAIK (I ran this boot disk creation on my windows 10 machine) now i've booted form this boot disk (well actually its a usb drive) and captured the windows 7 image, and deployed it to a PC. Now for some reason when this windows 7 machine starts, before it gets to windows the windows load screen, has the progress bar of windows 8 (see http://winsupersite.com/site-files/winsupersite.com/files/archive/winsupersite.com/content/content/128146/showcase/winvista_install_clean_002.jpg) rather than the windows 7 startup progress bar. no idea why this has happened, but its strange. any suggestions please?

I'm still struggling with these. The USB network card doesn't support PXE and I can't find any other way of imaging these. I'm now not even bothered if these accept our corporate image, just some way of cloning them. Any help would be appreciated. These are annoying me now!

Thanks for your replies. Ok basically I've got a computer in a recording studio that does not logon to our domain but we do require students to be able to access their F drive. The usernames are formatted as 1400000 and 1300000 and 1200000 - depending on what year they started. Each year has a different location for their home drives, so 14 students are located on \\server\students\2014\username and 13 students \\server\students\2013\username. Soooooo how do I go about doing that? Thank you

Hi all, I've been given the task of getting our corporate image onto one of these tablet computers. I've no idea how to go about this. We use WDS with MDT for our main desktops but no idea how to go about this. I've tried burning our MDT iso to CD but the tablet won't pick that up, and I've also got a USB network card but that also won't boot. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The first part sounds good, however I don't want the machine to logoff, just the connection to the network drive.

Hi there, I need a certain computer to be able to login as one local computer, but then after the students have finished the work they are doing, to be able to click something (no idea what) that will prompt for username/password. Then present them with their home directory. Then after a certain time period log them out of this network directory ready for the next student to logon. I know this is a strange scenario but any help would be appreciated. Thanks
