My youngest has just started at Swansea University, so browsing through Netflix, found FRESH MEAT. Quite funny in places.

The first series was great, the second, not so much, not watched any since. I have just started watching Stranger Things on Netflix.

This all came about due to a PTA film night being planned. As they are paying to attend, they needed to source the appropriate license. I will find out the actual documentation she is referring to and post a link.

Our BM has banned the use of youtube in the school as she has been informed that we do not have the necessary licensing to use it. Does anyone have any idea whether: a - she is correct b - if so, is there a way around it c - she is misguided, and misinterpreting what she has been told. My thoughts are that when we use YOUTUBE we agree to their terms and conditions, which do not state you cannot use in a school, but of course their terms cannot override UK law (if there is such a law that we need to be aware of) As you can imagine, the staff are a little peeved. So i am trying to get to the bottom of it. regards

I used the 1.2.1 MSI and did not encounter this problem with my yrs 3&4 codeclub.

Code club have a great support network. I run ours here (I have no teacher training at all) You can start with "Hour of Code" then move on to scratch projects. I have access to Microbits as well, and hope to integrate these in the scratch coding later in the term. However as mentioned for the age group you may be working with KODU may be a better option. I only have year 3 and 4 in my group and found KODU a little bit overwhelming for them, however years 5&6 preferred Kodu to Scratch.

We have had many issues with SCOPAY this week. Still not got it resolved.

I am the onsite technician (alongside my other non-teaching role as site manager) for the day to day issues, for our 2 form primary. We also buy in to network and logistical support from a third party for the big jobs, and anything i am unable to resolve locally. They attend site for a morning every two weeks during term time. Not sure of the cost, will check it out.

Could anyone give me a ball park figure to install InVentry in a two form primary. We only have one access point. and an existing fob entry system so only really need the sign in and out facility for staff and visitors. I think, for us, it using a sledgehammer to crack nuts. But it the system they have heard about. I would also welcome any comment on alternatives.

We lease. I do not have the time to fault find them as well as all the other bits and pieces that are perceived to be under my remit (i.e anything with some kind of wire or plug attached) Also, on the maintenance side, with the pounding ours get, it is good to know there is someone to call when they have their inevitable hissy fits

WD40 is also useful for removing permanent marker.

cant remember the last time i "reused" small change (under 50p). As soon as i get home it goes into a pot. Even more so, now that i have started using cashless payments. Charities will have a fair bit to say. I would guess that a good amount of their collection tins consist of small denomination coins.
