Just to be crystal, you can create reports (in Microsoft terms Report Builder, in SIMS terms - Report Designer (Reports | Design), ie dragging fields in and not default\built-in reports) on a non-Windows device, such as chromebook? All the work is done server-side, and the add-on, is to enable local creation (ie the work is done client side then sync'd back. There is no limitations either.

I think someone like SalmanaderSoft should be able to do it automatically.

SIMS .net uses the Wise installer, the Wise uninstaller is call unwise.exe. I guess that's why SIMS doesn't have uninstaller @vikpaw I have you know S3 uses MSI which means they it's suppose to be a clean install\uninstall - according to Microsoft spec of MSI installers

My comment was regarding the fact you need to install add-on that appears to be a windows-only component. Which wouldn't work on a non-windows machine like a chromebook - something that I suggest needs to be confirmed prior to commit to such a critical decision in a non-Microsoft environment, ie that a add-on for Chromium (the OS) exists. I'm sure Chrome on Windows will work fine.

Doesn't that extra 16gb get backed up to the cloud? Personally I often find the people who get the extra storage\ram are the fools who'd buy anything if it was "better", I know Microsoft DBA who has a £2k+ MacBook Pro which he uses for Facebook and not much else.

@Ellie04, I'd be interested in what features you are after from the cloud, also how you came to selecting just those three. If you look on @GREED website, Market Statistics | Eduware Consulting, at the bottom he's got a spreadsheet of schools and their MIS system based on the Census return, this should give you a list of actual customers who have completed a migration to a particular MIS system, they should also have a pretty good idea about the new system as they have completed a census! Looks like the domain is registered - WHOIS results | Nominet However it has no registrar listed. I suspect someone cleverly registered it when it was free - they now charge a whooping £5+ vat for life time registration. You basically need to first pick a registrar ie an agent to work with as Nominet charge something silly like £400 to register directly with them without an registrar to cover their extra cost incurred. I would recommend firstly contacting your LA (regardless of if your a LA school or not) and seeing if they can help, failing that someone like Mythic-Beasts - who manage the RaspBerry Pi website and are good company in general, ie you can speak with people who are in this country (specifically Cambridge) and understand what they are talking about. Nope, happens with SOLUS3 when someone is logged in. So SOLUS3 does an update, files are locked because the application is still open, so files get replace upon reboot, old version gets registered, then DLL vs reg'd COM version is different upon reboot. It works If look on nominet, do a WHOIS lookup, you have a registration (who you paid the money for the domain), then you have name servers - ie your dns provider. It's recommend you have these with two separate people, I'll try and dig out the article that explains why - the main reason it's to stop certain companies doing naughty things if you don't keep renewing your domain (and\or paying your bills on time).

Ah k, I think I know what you want. You basically need to update the DNS record but you want a custom domain name. two options - 1 is wait for the next release of Bindhub that lets you use your own domains. Other is mythic-beasts - https://www.mythic-beasts.com/ - be worth a chat with them. I believe afraid.org offers it, but your have to pay $5 per month so others can't get subdomains on your domain name - they basically pimp your domain out for the free service.

What do you mean? There are services like https://www.bindhub.com/ that let you update your DNS records when the IP address changes. You can't really have a dynamic IP for a Active Directory server. It's silly. Is that what your thinking?
