My path rule for the loom-recorder-production.exe doesn't include a path, just the file name itself - though I originally tried it with a path with the wildcard for the username. I've also got some hash rules for the loom-recorder-production.exe, but it continued to be blocked until I added the publisher rule. Looking at my logs, it's the publisher rule that is evaluated and allowed at runtime, but I've left them all in place because it caused chaos when it stopped working. Jo

Has anyone had problems with applocker with Loom? It was fine for months but now applocker is blocking loom-recorder-production.exe no matter what applocker rules I set to allow it. Only happens for non-admins.

They could have worn school uniform, mentioned the school by name or just the town. They said it was via UNICO App which I'd never heard of until this morning. The Play store reviews are not good reading material. Reports of predators offering minors gifts to take their clothes off on live video. EDIT: There are a lot of PH groups online, but this one came up blank. Shouldn't be surprised, there are probably a lot of smaller groups just doing their own thing without publicising it.

On first read I thought it was a weird phish, but as I typed up the forum post here it really set in my mind that it's a PH team. Safeguarding lead is dealing with it, we won't be making contact directly.

We received an email via our website contact form, stating urgent safeguarding action is needed. The email starts: "We are an Online App Safeguarding team and we monitor very dangerous ONLINE LIVE APPS some of which are recommended 18+" They claim to have found a pupil putting themselves at risk on UNICO and say "This app is full of predatory adults and children are being sexually exploited." It reads like something you'd get from a hunter / hunter team. They have provided a Gmail address of "nameteamuk" (team name withheld for now) They want us to provide an email address so they can send a photograph and details about the child. (Depending on the photo, this could be a bad idea.) It's signed off by an individual, but they refer to themselves as a team. They don't mention the name of the team in the email at all. It is signed off as "Name, Team manager". I've searched the team name from the email address, and variations of it (and the name of the individual) and can't find anything relevant at all. The language used sounds like the content of a PH facebook group e.g. "This app is full of predatory adults and children are being sexually exploited.". They also state that "the team have not seen any sign of sexual exploitation", but that "the child received inappropriate comments" whilst online. Has anyone else seen anything similar to this? There are no spelling or grammar errors; it looks like an attempt to appear like a legitimate organisation, but I'm confused as to why they would reach out to the school, and not the police or CEOP.

Well this thread has made interesting reading. I've had contact from MLS (3 times) in the past 2 days again trying to push us onto the Reading Cloud system. We've said no for the past 3 years and they only told me on Wednesday that there would be no local HTML5 version despite promising it was on the way in the summer. Those on hosted, is it still running slowly? I can see no reason to move away from the local at the moment. I'm obviously worried about browser compatibility but we don't use it enough to justify paying so much for the cloud version.

Just found a good possible explanation on a MS forum: MS have switched the mail site to use unicode emoji instead of the old ones, which were generated from small images. Win 7 can only render emoji in B&W. Looking closer, the emoji on my Windows 10 PC are in colour but have changed to more standard looking ones, smaller, not as polished.

This is affecting us too, just had a call from someone complaining that in the last week their emoji have switched from colour to black and white, and it's apparently affecting other staff too. They are all on Win7. Mine are still colour on Win 10.

Is this the price of the "hosting and management only" option as you mentioned to another user above?

Shockwave upgrade didn't work for us. We have a site license and ours isn't working even after v10 shockwave installed. How much does it cost for the portal option mentioned above, or SCORM upgrade?

Same is happening here. I tried the above, and it appeared to work for Safari but not in apps, which were prompting for authentication. When the iPad was switched off and back on, safari was prompting for auth too.

This is all really helpful, thanks everyone. At the moment the expected use is for iPads / netbooks. The numbers will be low to start with (200 distributed between depts) but we expect numbers to increase over the next 2-3 years.

Hi All, I'm looking for advice on PoE switches. We will shortly be purchasing approx 60 WiFi access points and need a few PoE switches. I haven't purchased PoE switches for more than 10 devices before now, and as we're in a hurry to spend the money (end of financial year), I don't have a lot of time to research. We will probably need a 48 port (or 2 x 24 port) switch in one building, and a 24 port in another. I've been looking at the Netgear ProSafe GS728TPSB but I'm worried it won't be able to power an AP on every port. It claims a "PoE budget" of 384W. An Aerohive AP claims a 14.5W max power draw on 802.3af. I'm assuming this then means the total power available divided by the max draw (384W/14.5W) = 26.48, so that should be enough, yes? Any experts out there who can point me in the right direction or recommend (better) hardware? Jo

Thanks all for the useful info. The Ergotron rep has assured us the doors have been changed and there are also other security improvements. Our ICT coordinator visited a school that used one a few days ago and they were mainly positive about it, but I will wait to see for myself. (He's bringing one to school this week.) Interesting to see "prodtest51" on Youtube defeating quite a few other brands of storage, including the Griffin Multidock which we were also considering. Thanks CPLTD for that link, it's proved very useful indeed!

Morning all, Does anyone have recommendations for (or warnings to avoid!) iPad sync and charge trolleys? (For 30/32 iPads each trolley) Our local supplier has suggested an Ergotron at approx £1700. We will probably need 6 so it's quite a big spend - any help appreciated! Thanks, Jo
