I do like Michael Spicer, his Boris Johnson video was funnier, NSFW though. -

No, because it's not statutory, it's "guidance" written by a consortium that thinks they know better than the government! Think of it as a suggestion, not even a helpful one for that point.

This is just some "guidance" written by a consortium. I'd like them to explain how disabling 3g in school stops staff from contacting pupils outside of school hours? Are they hoping the staff forget to turn it back on?

I had that before with a different salesperson, but the one I have this time has left me to it, even after I left it a week while I was busy! -
No arguing from me, and certainly not pointless. When we're talking about people's rights and european law, we need to be as clear and precise as possible. When you muddle your information, not read other people's posts properly, and make a joke out of procedure, you're not helping anyone. Nobody has said they will refuse no matter what.

Doesn't count, it's not badly labelled, just "witty"

You can always use something like wireshark to see what ports and protocols they are trying to use, or contact their support. I'd be questioning the use of home grade cctv in a school though!

For it to fall under Public Task, the data needs to be necessary. It's a fairly easy argument that those records are not necessary in a court case. Also, it's still up to the police to provide reasoning for the information, you don't just hand it over because they've asked for it.

That's not a lawful reason! They would still need a court order.

Anyone else get the strange email about RS?
bald_pig replied to pete's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
First off, That's not a scam, that's a phishing attack. Secondly, how do you know that's what they're doing, and not trying a different attack vector for infecting a network with something malicious? -

In theory, all you would need is an open box over the intake, with the opening area that air can flow through being at least the area of the intake, if that makes sense? -

The last Dell laptop I used had quite a comprehensive diagnostics utility built in to the BIOS. If the issue appears linked to the power supply it may be worth running the diagnostics to see if it's not pulling enough power from the supply? Also, get one of the seemingly fine laptops and test it with the same power supply for good measure.

I can't see how I could infer anything else from your post.

Personally, I would try Puppy but it's not used much. Lubuntu will probably be a little slower but better supported.
