Frustrated by a lack of career progression in Education IT? This could be the job for you! We seek an experienced and innovative Senior IT Technician to be responsible for the IT operations of United Learning’s North East London Primary cluster. As one of the largest MATs in the country, you will enjoy working as part of the in-house IT service where career progression is possible and actively encouraged. This role is based in one of the 8 United Learning schools I oversee across London. You will predominantly be working at The Hurlingham Academy but as a member of the wider team - we regularly collaborate and work to be stronger together. The Hurlingham shares the same management team as Lambeth Academy so there will be strong collaboration with that site. You will be reporting to the Assistant IT Service Manager who oversees both of those sites. The ethos and comradery of the team make for a lovely place to work, especially as we're now heavily utilising things like Microsoft Teams to operate as one cohesive team. It's an exciting time as we're doing a lot of work to further improve the service across the whole cluster, in a team where everybody has a voice and the opportunity to contribute. There is also scope for career progression not just within the cluster but also United Learning as a whole; the largest MAT in the UK. If you are technical, able to use your initiative, willing to professionally develop, and exert a high quality of customer service, this may be the job for you. https://unitedlearning.current-vacancies.com/Jobs/Advert/2071340?cid=1567

A fantastic opportunity to work within United Learning's growing London IT Service, this role based at Bacon's College with occasional travel to other cluster schools. We're working hard to develop the shared aspect of London's IT Service, which will bring plentiful opportunities to learn and collaborate with staff at other schools. As part of a shared team there will also be opportunities for career progression as the service grows. https://www.baconscollege.co.uk/about-us/vacancies/senior-ict-technician/ Mike Coyne IT Service Manager United Learning

Hi guys, Apologies that I didn't chip on this a bit earlier. I've done quite a bit of work around CAs over the years and I have done something very similar to what you guys have described here, especially with RSAT and delegated permissions in AD. However, I've taken it a bit further using a spreadsheet with Macros that generates batch scripts to seriously streamline the setup process, and batch scripts that allow staff to easily "open" and "close" the sessions. I have attached the files that will support you in setting this up for yourself if it is of interest. Cheers, Mike CAs.zip

HELP! File Server 2008 R2 hard drive problems

All very very good points Zag - I like your style! Yes, I think sometimes we can over engineer just because we can, but often simpler is more effective. Very good food for thought :-)
