Are users still able to log in at home, so use the tablet as a standalone? I've been given the go ahead to buy a device to test but I want to make sure I get the right one. If there is one with a VGA or LAN connection that would be ideal.

Do we think that these tablets with keyboards are the way to go? Are there tablets which we can add to our domain, and have group policy security applied? We currently use desktops in our classrooms for teachers, would these also work? Do any tablets/laptops come with LAN or VGA ports?

I have called raised with them as well. I actually did that first but 'you lot' helped me quicker!

Yeah it has made a difference on testing, but have obviously asked the staff to test - probably won't hear anything as it took them 3 months to mention that the internet was slow in the first place! Thanks for your help.

Is there anything I can do to reduce this or see if it is having an effect? We are all HP procurves.

We're 'independent' on schools broadband but I think its more do with our smoothie...if it is bypassed the web is fine.

We have a dedicated 100mb leased line, with in-house smoothwall. I have been told that the internet has been really slow since September. No-one ever brought it up before. I am going to restart our webfiltering, but is there anything that could 'slow' the web down? It's fine if the proxy is bypassed. The proxy is configured via log on script.

Is it worth me putting my name down, I never win anything or when I get freebies they don't get passed reception anyway...

We've looked at windows, androids and apple. It looks like we are going for iPads purely because the apps are better.

I pay a £5 a month for home start with Green flag. I thinks it home start anyway. Its their middle cover. Remember Quidco is your friend whichever you go for.

Is there any software that can be installed on the tablet and PC? I tried mirrorop but that keeps crashing on the PC.

Any recommendations for apps for an android and a windows tablet to wirelessly connect to a PC to show the tablets screen? Apple has airserve and a few, but am struggling to find any for a windows tablet.
